In light of the fact that Easter (no matter what date it is celebrated on) represents the Resurrection, the pivotal moment in the Jesus story, I don't think cards that celebrate it would be considered bad. The egg is an ancient symbol for new life and so it is also applicable here.
Just because some device or symbol was not used during the apostolic era does not mean it is evil when added to the "Christian" tool box. Certainly all the Christians would be forced to learn Hebrew or Aramaic if that were the case. Nor would much of the service that today's Christians are familiar with be used.
One of the great flaws of the Protestant Reformation is that it attempted to bring Christianity back to its "pure beginnings". By doing so, many of them have become legalistic, not unlike the Scribes and Pharisees that Jesus so often told his followers not to imitate.
I do not think that Jesus came to earth to make life uncolorful and/or miserable. So whoop it up on Easter and eat some Chocolate bunnies.

I disagree if and only if the ones buying those have not replaced the meaning of Easter in their hearts and minds with the fun and well wishing that goes with easter. If they keep the symbolism of the egg alive, the meaning and importance of the resurrection and the new life, and so on, then certainly easter eggs and cards are fine! Easter cards are an important way for family members and friends to connect at a time when remembering the resurrection. It's wonderful, and I know Jesus approves so long as you don't fall to mammon.

I find that Easter in the sense of the Easter Bunny and so on is a created idol for that day, a tradition in many people's homes in America (not sure about the rest of the world), and commercialized for corporations to rake in money. I however, don't celebrate the day because of "Easter", I celebrate on that day because of Jesus' resurrection. It matters not if I agree or disagree with Christians (or anyone else) on the whole Easter Bunny/Egg/Card thing, God is clear that He detests idols and the worshiping of idols.

See's Candies, Nougat -filled, about 4 - 5 inches long, milk chocolate covered, dappled with dark chocolate little pieces cylindrically shaped, about 3 inches thick and egg- shaped.
That's my idea of a good easter egg.
I do not celebrate Easter. I actually resent it. There are too many relationships to pagan rituals; eggs and rabbits being fertility symbols, sunrise service being a practice of sun worshipers, and then to hook it up to Jesus, which is not what I call a proper thing to do.
As far as others doing those things, I look to the Bible for guidance and do not judge those who do those things, neither would I go along with them, the Gospel being the important thing to do along with trusting God over all things:
Colossians 2
16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. 19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: 21 "Do not handle! Do not taste! Yes, I agree.
Friday to Sunday is not three days and three nights...it was more like Wednesday to Saturday. The tomb was found empty before sunrise on Sunday (there goes the sunrise service).
Jesus rose three days after Passover, and sometimes Passover and Easter are nearly a month apart. Easter is a pagan holiday having to do with fertility--which is where the rabbits and eggs come in.
As a Christian I refuse to observe pagan holidays.

Christians shouldn't do anything fun. When you have fun, it makes Jesus cry. Jesus died because you have too much fun.
Obviously these statements are not scriptural, (or at least I hope they aren't). However, this seems to be the basic approach of some especially uptight "christians". Do you really think that God would get mad at someone for painting an egg?
Just as long as you can manage to not worship the egg or offer the egg on the altar of a pagan god you should be fine. If you do feel tempted to offer the egg on the altar of a pagan god, good luck in finding one.

Easter should not be celebrated with bunnies, eggs, etc. because that part of Easter is a pagan celebration on fertility. Christians are just hypocritical and stupid :-) Isn't this holiday that absolute foundation of their religion?? Should they be focusing on that instead of eating chocolate rabbits and ham with their family and hiding eggs? I personal don't celebrate Easter BECAUSE it is the foundation on Christianity. We hide and collect eggs the first day of spring instead.

If you feel that they should not purchase those things because they are "Pagan." What about Christmas trees and all those pretty Christmas lights? And what about that wonderful birthday cake that many people purchase several times a year? Oh yea! What about that Sunrise Service that they rush out to on Easter morning?

Eggs...Cadburys creme eggs to be suited - and in no way in one million years might i be a area of the massive 'con' that valentines day is....even nevertheless i like my hubby....does no longer pay 5 quid for a cheesy card!!

Against- Eggs and candy have nothing to do with Jesus. We should be giving our praise to Jesus, not halmark.
For- Eggs represent rebirth which is what happened to not only jesus when he was resurected but to the world, for now we can all enter heaven.
