The point God makes is we don't. If someone wants to know God they only have to have faith enough to invite him into their life. So, we don't have to. We just have to learn to let people go the way they want to. Or discern if a question here in this format is sincere, then try to answer it honestly with love and caring the way Jesus loves and cares about us. sigh.

Because you are the ones that believe in God. To you he is real. So prove it. Before I believe in something, I need evidence. How do you prove that something doesn't exist? It can be done, but it's quite difficult. Whereas, if something does exists, there would be evidence for it.

We dont Mitchell. G_d has already proved himself. We know he is because he has revealed himself to us. Those who dont believe need to read the Hebrew Scriptures. The burden of proof does not lie on us. G_d will show himself to all on the last day. I am a follower of Yeshua and I pray a blessing for you in the name of the G_d of Jacob. Baruch Hashem.

Why do non-believers have to DIS-prove God?

Because you're the one making the claim. One that affects people.

You want people to believe your way, you need to back up your claim.

According to the "great" commission, the burden is squarely on xians. The have to go and make disciples. There is no scriptural mandate to me to convince them why I shouldn't be a disciple.

They DON'T have to.

God does not demand it.
God commands us not to put Him to the test.
God does not subject Himself to the demands of His creatures.

We are to submit to Him, not the other way around.

We proclaim His existence to others, even as a warning to others...and THIS is our "burden". We have NO burden of "proof".

Ezekiel 3:18-19:
"When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself"

You don't - unless you claim your specific god exists and want others to accept the claim.

The problem is that many theists hurt others because of their religion.
