I don't know, but from what I've seen the Jews and Wiccans are the LEAST easily offended.

Many of the atheists on here jump to conclusions and assume too much. So do many of the Christians. The Muslims seem alright when they're not trying to proselytize.

So I'd say the Christians and atheists are tied.

I'm a Christian, by the way.

IMO it is the CONSERVATIVE Christians who are the most easily insulted as just about any Non-Christian question is perceived as an attack on them.

If a question is posted asking for information on Pagan or Wiccan beliefs, that question is likely to be bombarded by people calling Wicca or other Pagan beliefs "evil" or even "satanic". HOWEVER, the reverse is not usually true even though MANY Christians feel they are being "persecuted" on the R&S Forum.....

As a Christian, I would have to say that there are members of every religion who are ridiculously easily offended. Shame on all of you! ;)

No, seriously. Athiests get offended the instant you mention God. Jews get offended the instant you mention Jesus (Muslims do this too). Christians, Jews, and Muslims get offended the instant you say there is no God. Wiccans get offended if you say they are following Satan. I'd say they are all too touchy.

I think they're all easily offended when someone makes a stab at their core values (low blows seem to be hot on R&S). Doesn't matter what [non]religion or background you are.

It really boils down to character assasination, if a Theist called me a stupid moral-less ape for being Atheist, you're right I'd be ticked off, likewise goes if I call a Theist a blind follower who lives in the land of make-believe (I don't believe in either of those generalizations, I'm using them to illustrate my point). Then it just becomes a back-and forthing of character assasination until we descend to the caca-poopie stage of name-calling and everyone loses a few IQ points and no one wins.

In the world of budgeting and finance, there is an important term: cross-cut. It means that parts of each group can also be grouped, basically.
Thus, I would add the following cross-cut group: whiners. Whiners are found in each group, and they are the ones most easily offended. However, which group holds the most whiners?

Historically, the jews are known for their whining (and guilt, according to the great movie Hebrew Hammer). Atheists feel that the world is stupid for believing in God, and they shout each time someone professes his faith. Muslims cut your head off if you draw a man who walked the earth. Christians are supposed to be persecuted, as was Christ, but some are just complainers, too.

I'd say Wiccans are the least whiney. Muslims are the most reactive (few people doing lots of killing/damage). Atheists are the most easily offended from my perspective; however, as a Christian, I'm sure Atheists would say my religion is the most.

The answer is never based on a group, but individuals. Every religion is made up of thick-skinned and thin-skinned individuals.

I think the ones who are shakiest in their faith are the most easily offended, while the secure ones take criticizm with a grain of salt. After all, in their eyes they are correct and you are the one who's risking salvation.

Christians (I will make that Fundemental Christians). They are the most likely to repost a question and demand an apology, they are the most likely to report, they are the most likely to follow an offending question up with hate mail and they are the most likely to complain "WHY??" when someone askes a question they don't like. Yet, they are not tolerant, loving or understanding.

Why do people assume that all members of a group behave in the same manner, feel the same things? People are individuals. It's never wise to lump humans. It leads to the dehumanizing of any group

from what I've seen on these pages, atheists. I used to be a wiccan, and nothing really bothered me much; I'm one of Jehovah's Christian witnesses, now, and nothing really personally offends me now.

Xians.

Atheists tend to post mirth filled responses. I think that Xians tend to feel mocked because many (not all) know very little about their religions and they have an entire group of people who don't believe in their god knowing a plethora of information about their religion.

What has become a way of satirizing or blatantly trying to show Xians how they are viewed by us (ie inserting Zeus instead of god into one of their posts) is considered mocking.

If I say Zeus created everything. Xians find it mocking. Muslims and Pagans and Wiccans, etc. don't.
