Yes it can - urine is very acidic and enough of it in the soil can kill plants.

Yep. Cats usually return to the place they urinated in the night before and "go" again and that kills the plants. Urination in household animals does not change in acidity when there is altering in the process. It doesn't make a difference. A little bit is actually good for plants, but too much will make them wither and die.

If that's all that is in the pot, yes it can be too much. But the cats outdoors who use my flower garden haven't harmed the plants at all.

it does - believe me!

my female and spayed cats have killed both indoor and outdoor plants

they also stain the hardwood floors until the wood is grayish and dry looking
