Flicc ...I am starting to worry about you. You worry about being sick WAY TOO MUCH! You ask SO many ? about fear of getting sick.
Okay so what is the worst possible thing that could happen if you caught a cold? You would be in the bed a few days...you would get lots of attention, you would get better and it would be over. END OF STORY!
Have you ever heard of hypochondria???? You have to be careful that you don't obsess too much and end up a hypochondriac.
*A person with hypochondrias preoccupied with physical health and body. The diagnosis is used when a person during at least 6 months believes, fears or is convinced that he has a serious disease despite medical reassurance. This fear of disease or preoccupation with symptoms is unpleasant, interferes with the patient's daily life in a negative way and leads to medical examinations and/or treatment. The patient can only temporarily accept assurance that there is no physical explanation to his symptoms.

If you've got "rubbish" in your body that needs to be cleared out, you'll catch a cold regardless.
Nothing will stop it.
If your body is healthy and doesn't need a clear out,you won't catch a cold.
Some people say taking lots of Vitamin C (either by vitamin tablet form or from eating oranges) daily will strenghten your immune system - which may be true, but as i said,if your body has any rubbish that needs to be gotten rid of,you'll get a cold.
Also, you're more likely to catch a cold by touch, rather than breathing in someones "germs".

Cold germs are transferred by hands and by air. you will however be more protected from it if you and she both wash your hands good throughout the day. and just try not to get face to face with her where a sneeze or cough would force her germs inthe air. If your friend has a sore throat it could be strep and if that is the case she should see the doc and he would most likely give her a good day or two on antibiotics before returning to school.

Well, aside from wearing a mask to cover your mouth and nose (which would be rather insulting), I'd suggest just making sure your immune system is strong enough to fight off the germs.
If you aren't sure if your immune system is strong enough, you could take Colostrum, mushrooms (Reishi, Maitake, and Shiitake), Elderberry, Echinacea (which should not be taken long-term), Inositol Hexaphosphate (IP-6), CoQ10, any basic antioxidants, or one of many other things that are less powerful, but still give some impact.

Colds are viral infections, and are spread by droplet spray (aireborne), or from direct contact with infected individuals.
You can prevent catching them by upping your immune system, maybe by taking antioxidants, like the famous vitamin A, C, and E. Especially vitamin C.
You can also get yearly immunizations to protect you from colds.
However, since you have limited time, you just might hope that your immune system is buffed so you won't be able to catch your friend's cold tomorrow.
Goodluck.:)

take a sanitizer with u and every time u shake hands use it.
tell her to use different tissue for every sneeze and cough.
tell her to sneeze or cough the other side of u
tell her to wash her hands or use sanitizer frequently
if she is not sneezing or coughing, u don't need to worry so much

best prevention is frequent hand washing, we catch colds by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching our faces, if you wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face you reduce your chances of catching a bug.
If you are already ill, I recommend Zicam nasal swabs, they will lessen duration and severity of a cold.
