He was certainly willing to prove his existance in biblical times by performing some almighty miracles. Why were they all done so conveniently before the bible was written? Why doesn't he do them anymore, and prove his existance now?

Interesting. Not one Fundie actually answered your question. They refuse to address the fact that there have been no sea partings, no 30,000 foot deep "great floods", no wives turned into salt, no rods turned into serpents, etc....since biblical times. Not one of them would deal with this odd fact. It is fun, though, to read their non-answers.

I believe that God has not stopped performing miracles like in the old days. Miracles happen everyday such as technology, innovation, discovering cures which were there all the time. etc.... Learning new things everyday that you never knew you didn't know. Meeting new people that are open minded with hearts filled with love. Being able to stand strong no matter how ugly others treat you. Having the ability to never give up!

Muhammad is mentioned by his exact name in the Gospel of Barnabas which is a gnostic gospel written 300 years after Yeshua. But none of the other gnostic gospels mention Muhammad. The Gospel of Thomas is even older and doesn't mention Muhammad. It is the earliest written gospel known to man yet it still doesn't mention Muhammad once. Its a known fact that the gospel of Barnabas was written by someone else and not the saint himself. The new testament does mention the comforter. If you believe that Muhammad is the comforter than you have your answer. "Read more, learn more, change the globe" Nas

I guess it's like a runner getting off to a fast start but having nothing left to finish. Or a TV show that's really good the first few seasons but by the end it's a shell of what it used to be.

And to all those who say there's still miracles around, read the question. Where are the pillars of fire? The seas parting? The people turning into pillars of salt? Even a chatty burning bush? But all we got is people being born, and diseases going into remission. I feel cheated.

The process for beatification (creating Saints) normally requires evidence of miracles.

http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/Teresa/Sainthood.asp

"In 2002, the Holy Father recognized the healing of an Indian woman as the miracle needed to beatify Mother Teresa of Calcutta. That healing occurred on the first anniversary of Mother Teresa's death. It involved a non-Christian woman in India who had a huge abdominal tumor and woke up to find the tumor gone. Members of the Missionaries of Charity prayed for their founder's intervention to help the sick woman.".

There are (apparently) miracles happening all over the place all the time, if you know where/how/when to look.

Please read your Bible! All the answers are there. The Lord used miracles only for a short while as the Bible was still in the process of being completer therefore the apostles were able to confirm their words by their works. We are told that where there are miracles they shall cease. The Lord clearly tells us in His word that man is without excuse as the very creation testifies of his existence.

First of all the Bible is a very concentrated collection of miracles that actually occurred over a long span of time. Signs and wonders weren't happening every day. Second, God still performs miracles today including but not limited to physical healings and resurrections.

He is still performing miracles. When my daughter was born, she had a hole in her heart. The doctors were talking about having to do surgery to close up the hole. Well, I took her to church and had her prayed for, And when we took her back to the doctor, her heart was perfect. No hole. God performed the miracle of closing the hole up in her heart. Nowadays, alot of people do not have enough faith to see all the miracles God has wrought on this earth. Those who believe doesn't need proof of His existence. Another miracle that God has done in my life is when he healed my leg. My right foot turned in so bad that my toes pointed to the arch of my left foot. My mother prayed for God to straighten it out and to this day, my foot is as straight as the other. So He hasn't stopped performing miracles. People have stopped believing and having faith.

We do not see God performing such miracles by the hands of his Christian servants today, because all needed things are present and available to the literate population of the world, and to help those who cannot read but who will listen, there are mature Christians who have knowledge and wisdom gained by study and experience. It is not necessary for God to perform such miracles at this time to attest to Jesus Christ as God’s appointed deliverer, or to provide proof that He is backing up His servants. Even if God were to continue to give his servants the ability to perform miracles, that would not convince everyone, for not even all the eyewitnesses of Jesus’ miracles were moved to accept his teachings. On the other hand, scoffers are warned by the Bible that there will yet be stupendous acts of God performed in the destruction of the present system of things.

Well one reason is that in those times he was actually alive. He was hung on the cross and only his spirit lives now. So he cant exactly stand in front of us and do them anymore. He does them spiritually now. For example. My uncle recently had brain and lung tumors. Hes been going to all kinds of doctors saying that he is going to die. our whole family has been prayinf for him and he went back to the doctor and all the tumors are gone!! i think that was a miracle. Then there are the ones where people who had serious accident and supposed to die lives, when a baby is born, you just have to look through the sins of the worl and realize there is more out there than just coincidences.

It's "God" not "god". And He still does miracles, what do you think happens when a baby is born? Is that not a miracle itself? And what about people whose cancer just suddenly disappears? that's a miracle to. There are many miracles happening in the world everyday.
