There's alot more to it than someone can just "show" you... look into taking some classes in sound engineering.

Running a soundboard (i take it you mean a mixing desk) is not easy, it needs experience and taking a course in Sound Engineering would help. Ill try and give you some tips tho:
1. Have a very clear idea of what is happening in each channel. Which band member is it for? Is it set for that members prefernce? What else is connected to that channel?
2. Learn about headroom. This is basically the gap btwn program levels (the sound you want coming from the speakers) and peak levels (the sounds you DONT want:clipping, popping, distortion etc). This is important because you want to have a good sound that anyone can hear but you dont want any unexpected noise that could blow your equipment.

Feel free to mail me for other qs

You can go on the various video sites like youtube and watch videos. But the best way is to get to know someone who is actually doing it and have them show you. Read up on and research various components involved in audio on the web. Hal Leonard Pub. and Yamaha both have some really good books on the subject as well. With all the reading, watching and doing is the best experience you'll get.
