If this is for a simple money debt and not from child support or a government type of debt, garnishing VA disability and SS is NOT allowed in "all states".

Even though it is not allowed, collectors/creditors still do it.
The banks do have the power to claim the money is exempt, if they are aware that the money comes from disability checks, but the banks also make money from it so they often allow the garnishments to happen.

If you do not have a judgment against you but you have been served, inform the court that your income is from VA disability and is exempt from garnishment.
You might also speak to the bank manager about having your account flagged as exempt from garnishment.

If there is already a judgment against you and they have already started garnishing, you need to contact the bank manager and discuss the situation and also file with the court to have the garnishment order overturned and your money refunded

You might want to check with an attorney. Some states do not allow garnishment of SS, disability, etc. So before you sign your rights away go speak to an attorney. The initial consultation should be free. If not, then go see someone else.

make sure they validate the debt and they can't if you
don't give them your bank information. I had a creditor
do that and I had to hire a lawyer and sue them back.

They have to validate the debt first.
