Yes they can play and some play bloody well but I can't see the day where woman catch up with men. Although I believe there is now a woman playing in the Italian professional leagues. They'll Always be one or two quality players but that isn't enough to bring in large quantities of fans, sponsorship, television deals etc. I'm not putting woman down or being sexist but the standard of woman's football is very poor, I actually do bother to watch woman's football when it makes a rare appearance on the tv but you get the same standard of flair and passing from sunday league mens amateurs and I'll stop and watch that too, female goalies also seam to be dreadful, I've yet to see a good one. But in danger of sounding like a woman who watches mens football, some of the female players are bloody lovely to look at!

in my opinion football is the best sport and i play for a team
sometimes women can be better than the men at football so i dont see why we cant

From what I saw of the Womens World Cup it's because they are good at the game! They exhibited great skill and grace, and most of the top palyers were very tactically aware. (And did you notice that they were not constantlyy spitting?!!) If the male 'body bulk' advantage could be neutralised in some way, many of the womens' international teams would probably beat the current England men's team.

I played football and I'm a girl -- why? Because its a fun sport. I don't care if its generally a male based sport. I also did wrestling for a period of time on my school's team. Both sports are fun. I wish more girls would get involved in these type of sports, they have no clue what they're missing out on =)

They like it for the same reasons men do!! they don't have less skill than men do! I'm a girl and i play 5 times a week, and play and watch with a passion, i play in defence and am not afraid to play like men do, i love it. I find it sexist when men say women can't play as well as men can. Its not true!!

I play because I love the sport. It makes me feel alive.
Why do guys play the sport? Probably for the same reason.
You feel awesome running after the ball, sliding, getting dirty and shooting the ball like your life depended on it.
I love the feeling when I play. I play and I have control, I have the power, and I can do anything with it. No one can stop me and its an awesome feeling.
P.s: Playing with friends for fun is one of the best feelings too.
