I'm Catholic also, and learning more about why other faiths don't think we are "Christian". Lots of misconcepts, but either way I am very proud of my religion and its strong beliefs.

I'm an atheist, so faith isn't really my thing. Tho' it does rather depend on one's definition of the word, I guess. For example, I'm going on a hitch hiking holiday in a couple of days, and it could be said that I have faith that I'm not going to end up being buggered, murdered and dumped in a roadside ditch. But there's no faith in a God or Gods protecting me, just an understanding that while things like that do happen to people, it's statistically very unlikely.

By the way, jesussaves, in New Zealand, several paedophile priests have been arrested and imprisoned. So justice has been done on some occasions.

I am Catholic and I likewise place my faith in God.

It is sad that there are four posters so far that have taken this as an opportunity to criticize Cathoilicism. Someone states that he has faith in God and because he is a Catholic, people feel they need to criticize Catholicism. Is this an expression of their "faith"?

I was raised Catholic, but I gave it up for Lent one year.

Well, there's faith and faith. "Religious" faith usually means that you accept a given "religious" statement as true without criticism, examination, verification, or any other method of test.

Personally, I'm on the side of St Thomas, who demanded to probe the wounds of the risen Christ before he'd believe in the bodily Resurrection. Those who "have not seen and who have believed" may be "blessed," but they aren't very bright.

My faith is solely based on the fact that I was put on Earth to help others.

However, I was raised Catholic and have great respect for your traditions.

You have to have faith in God because you cannot have faith in the Catholic church, Too busy paying accusers of those pedophile priests and i still see not a one in jail or defrocked. Lets cover our sin like Adam and Eve did. Hope God likes the fig leaves we put over the sick priests. maybe he wont see it.

How can anyone belong to, let alone give money to, a religion that wont follow the bible. Yes you can say im bashing but sin is sin and thier camp is full of it.

Jesus is not happy.

Guess it is not right on here to point out what is wrong according to the bible (a book i beleive you use) Satan wants us to be one big happy family and forget right and wrong. looks like your on your way there sgbarry
