This is what we have to look forward to as believers in Christ:
Ephesians 1:13-14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.”
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”

I believe that most people who succumb to desperate sadness have become ambivalent about life. You need to find new interests.
Let's say you still think everything in your life is going badly, but you take up scuba diving with the goal of taking a trip to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, or the Cayman Islands. You have a goal. Your mind is occupied. You have something worth fighting for.
Imagine something like this: swimming in crystal clear water 30 feet below the surface, seeing colors more magnificant and vibrant than anything you've ever seen on dry land. You see a mottled Trigger fish, or some brightly colored clown fish. You swim almost effortlessly past sea anenomes and blood red coral. This is something worth fighting for!
Read the lyrics below, and then get Rush's amazing album "Presto", or if you have ITunes, you can buy this song.
How could I say it better than the Canadian power trio RUSH:
Proud swagger out of the schoolyard
Waiting for the world's applause
Rebel without a conscience
Martyr without a cause.
Static on your frequency
Electrical storm in your veins
Raging an unreachable glory
Straining at invisible chains.
And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge
Staring down into a heatless sea
Can't face life on a razor's edge
Nothing's what you thought it would be.
All of us get lost in the darkness
Dreamers learn to steer by the stars
All of us do time in the gutter
Dreamers turn to look at the cars.
Turn around and turn around and turn around
Turn around and walk the razors edge
Don't turn your back
And slam the door on me.
It's not as if this barricade
Blocks the only road
It's not as if you're all alone
In wanting to explode.
Someone set a bad example
Made surrender seem all right
The act of a noble warrior
Who lost the will to fight.
And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge
Staring down into a heartless sea
Done with life on a razors edge
Nothing's what you thought it would be.
No hero in your tragedy
No daring in your escape
No salutes for your surrender
Nothing noble in your fate
Christ, what have you done?
All of us get lost in the darkness
Dreamers learn to steer by the stars
All of us do time in the gutter
Dreamers turn to look at the cars.
Turn around and turn around and turn around
Turn around and walk the razors edge
Don't turn your back
And slam the door on me.

K Girl,
I went through a dark period of my own not too long ago. I continue to struggle from time to time. The words of encouragement I have are:
On the other side of the pain, is relief. Everything that we experience is supposed to teach us lessons about ourselves. Look at your current situations and think about what the lesson might be. It would be a waste for you to have gone through a great deal of pain and then give up. It would mean that everything you've gone through was for nothing.
Think about the people in your life who love and support you or at the very least, have shown you kindness. Find those people and surround yourself with them. If there aren't people like that close to you, find a group - they are out there. You would be surprised at the amount of people who are in pain right now. You might benefit from talking to someone who can understand your specific situation.
If you are experiencing depression, please know that in addition to the medicine available to work on the chemicals in your body, going for a long walk, talking a run (don't laugh) actually can bring up (chemically) really nice feelings in your body and in your head. You are not alone. Good luck.
-L

Give it all over to God. John Chapter 14. Set your troubled hearts at rest. Trust in God always.
1 Corinthians 10: 13
So far you have faced no trial beyond what man can bear. God keeps Faith and he will not allow you to be tested above your powers but when the test comes he will at the same time provide a way out, by enabling you to sustain it.

If the demons are causing you to harm others, seek professional help right away.
If you are talking about fighting natural urges that your religion has deemed naughty or sinful, then don't sweat the small stuff, just treat others with respect, and understand that when people tell you they have the answers for eternal life, they are lying.

Stay strong. Things will improve over time. Think about all the good things happening in the world right now and realize more good will come to you soon. Giving up causes regrets. You can do it!

Just remember, in the fight against Demons, you're the one in control. You can make them go away.

Demons are a fancy word for problems. You have "demons" like everyone else does. Get over yourself and get help if you need to.
By the way, where is your "God"? Why isn't he helping you?

ok i hope you are referring to metaphorical demons, anyways here's some:......take a deep breath and enjoy the fact of life even in the worst situations, help others when you are down because feeling needed is a human need itself, and dont worry about any situation because in time this too will pass. have a good one.
