I've been working with my uncle in his company for 2 years now all legit on the payroll....

i do wet rooms and bathrooms/Tiling etc....

i started with him when i was 21 years old and i thought it would be nice for a change in carreir and i do enjoy it...

seeing that i knew nothing he said he would pay me £50 a day which is fair enough, tho the last few months i have been thinking, i've been doing some jobs on my own, i am good at tiling now... i want to ask him, if i could have a payrise, i feel a little scared to ask for some reason.

what do you think is the best way to go about it, and how much more should i ask for.??

Figure out how much he is making off of your labor and then try to figure out how you can make him more money - whether it is managing a job yourself or quoting the job. That will add value to your employement and in return you should ask for more compensation.

Or shop around for a job opening with another tile company that is looking for someone with experience see how much they are willing to start you with, then you can have something to bring back to your uncle and you can use it as leverage to negotiate for money. This should be a good excuse to approach your uncle without being scare. Tell him you need more money because your interested in buying a new car or tell him something so he can understand why you asking for more money.

Check what the rate is for that type of work where you live. If it is less than what you are making now, approach your Uncle and explain to him that since he hired you, you have learned how to..., you have been on time everyday, haven't missed any work and have proven to be a reliable person with skills and feel that an increase in pay to ?? (whatever you decided)
is justifiable and you want him to consider giving you the raise.
