I guess its just an unconscious release of your desire to really punch those you hate.

The punching is a release of anger and of course you feel great but is only in the part of dream. Subconsciously you can't release it in reality and that is why you release in dream.
It seems like you may have some problem stopping it. In order to stop it, you need to fix the way you think about those people. Instead of confronting or tolerating those people you don't like, perhaps you should learn to ignore them. Sometimes it is hard, but it may take some time to try.
However, there is a way to stop it temporarily. Right before you sleep, just remind yourself about those people. By suppressing the thought, they may not appear in your dream. However, it may not work for everyone.

Wow, anger issues.
How come nobody at all ever mentions forgiveness?
Okay, so I'm mentioning it. try forgiving the people in your dreams and see what happens.
Clearly, you have issues with these people. Clearly, these issues are not going away.
The people you are punching are issues of frustration that keep recurring in your life, and no matter what you do, those issues refuse to go away or disappear. No matter what you do, no matter what weapons you use, like zombies, the issues 'refuse to die' and keep coming back up again and again.
Since the issues, what ever they are, are not going away, it's up to you to accept or resign yourself to them. The issues may be big - like credit companies calling you about overdue bills, or small, like co-workers making the same mistakes over and over again and you have to fix the problem over and over again.
If the issue is something big, like owing money, you need to talk to a credit counselor and discuss ways to make small payments on your loans or debts over time to reduce the burden of the debt. That will take care of some of the undead zombies in a dream that can't be killed.
If it is problems with co-workers at your job, maybe you should put in for a job transfer or find a new job that doen't involve so many coworkers with so many possibilities for screwups.
If it's just plain frustration, try taking a leave of absence and getting a job at a junkyard deconstructing cars and old appliances and beat those objects to pieces and take your frustrations out on inanimate objects instead of people.
I know I sound crazy, but stress takes the form of unbeatable foes in dreams, foes that can't be killed or hurt or stopped. The way to change your dreams is to change yourself.
One way to change is to forgive the other people around you instead of wanting to punch them for being so stupid. This means quit focusing on their mistakes and focus on learning to fix your own. It means no longer rescuing them from disaster by covering for them and letting them take the hit in real life. Have you been preventing problems by fixing repeated mistakes? Stop, and let the person who is screwing up take the fall and the rap. If you are dealing with unreasonable people, find another job. If stress on your job is too much, find a new career.
By changing your way of looking at the problem, your dreams will change.
Good luck.

Because it's just a dream. you'd feel that they feel pained from the punch if you feel pain too, but you don't right?.. the force you exert is the force you take back LOL
Why not punch them in reality? Man that would really feel greater than just dreaming about it.

The reason you can't hurt them in your dreams is because you are afraid of the consequences of actually hurting them.
The consequences could range from getting hit back to killing them with one punch and going to jail.
If you want to hurt them in your dreams, you have to realize you are dreaming, (hard to do) after you become lucid in your dream, you can act without consequence.
