Hi. They can be dust mites or ticks. Go to an allergist and they can test you to see what your allergic to and if they see the bites or rashes u get they can usually tell what bit you by looking at it. I once got bit by something on my ankle and it swelled up and itched really bad. I showed my allergist and she said it was a spider bite =/. Im sure an allergist can help you :) good luck. For now, wash all of your sheets and pillow cases, curtains, sweep, mop, or vacuum. Clean everything and try to use a humidifier if u have one.

One question - does it still happen when you are in a bath of hot water? If so then the problem is hair. You may have become hypersensitive and are feeling your individual hairs standing thus giving the feeling of bugs crawling all over you. The body lotion you are using may either have caused the problem (in which case the simple fix is to change it), or it may be making a slight problem worse (the lotion may be 'holding' your hairs down so when they release you feel it as movement). If you do develop a rash then definitely go see a doctor.

The crawling sensation sounds like scabies, very tiny pinpoint size bits which eventually form a linear pattern, mites can infect skin anywhere. See MD or instacare clinic or even public health nurse for diagnosis and medications to rid yourself of issue. If mites involved lots of washing and home cleaning required. Common sensation from allergy to fabric detergents, sizing in new unwashed bedding, or softeners. Dust mites generally cause red swollen itchy eyes, stuffy nose, post nasal drip, wheezing.

Let's see could be:
Dust mites
Skin mites (scabies, see your doctor)
Spiders
Ticks
Bedbugs (gross, prepare to do battle)
Start by cleaning your room and bed top to bottom. Check the vacuum filter for bugs. You'll recognize spiders and ticks. Bedbugs are flat unless filled with blood. Brown or red and they pop if you squeeze them. You won't see any mites.
Skin mites (scabies) will have to be treated by your doctor. The unbearable itch that gets worse at night with no apparent cause is usually skin mites. You won't be able to see them, but it itches like crazy.
Oh yeah, with bedbugs or skin mites, you'll be washing your linen every or close to every day. You'll want the matress steamcleaned too.

If it is bugs, you should have little, red bug bites. How old are you, and are you female? A feeling like bugs crawling on the skin is an uncommon, but not unheard of, symptom of menopause.

That a common complaint from BED BUGS which infest closets, sofas, carpeting, mattresses etc. You definately should call in a Pest control company to first identify the possible source of the itching.
