Austria and Germany are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO) and that is the reason that they have Military Troops in Afghanistan and that is the requirement of member states to provide military assistance!!

Part of the NATO and UN Coalition that are there along with the Canadians, British, Americans Romanians and a host of others. Except the South Koreans.

They are part of the U.N. and NATO forces in that country; been there for quite a while as the U.N. and NATO took responsibility for a large part of the effort not too long after the Taliban government fell.

Well they are part of NATO which just took over for the Americans. They are here doing a lot actually. Helping out a lot..

Because the Taliban used Afghanistan to grow illegal drugs to ship across the world, including to Germany and Austria.
Basically, the Taliban spread addiction to other societies.

The same thing as the British and Americans, they are NATO allies. The Romanians and Italians are there as well.
