Can anyone plz tell me what is the future of BPO's in India. I am working in a call center . Can I hope to have a long time career in this industry or should I quit and choose some other field ????

As far as BPO are concerned, they are here to stay. Now you should not look at a long career in the industry. Work for a year or two. During this time enjoy as much as you want, make your money and leave.
In a call center you are trained and qualified in one particular field. Now this is not favorable to other jobs. For other jobs in areas like HR, Operations, Marketing, Accounts etc all need related qualification and adequate experience. A call center experience is not taken into account.
The best that can happen is, you will grow in that industry to a particular level and then once you reach that level, that's it. You cannot see yourself in the shoes of a Director or a CEO. You need to have years of experience to reach there. A call center will not give you this.
Experience is calculated in years and therefore the longer you stay in a call center the more you lose out in terms of experience. Look at it this way, by the time you attain the age of 40 you should be in respectable position drawing a fat salary. Times ticking!!

Whenever you get time, try to utilise it by getting yourself trained in both professional and management skills so that you will get yourself promoted in your current or similar BPO organisation.
You can also go for some kind of career enhancement by appearing for certain exam / attending certain course and think of change or moving towards the IT line.

Future is Bright for sure. But which BPO u r working with and at what level. If u r in retial of BFSI then its good. But if ur in KPO, LPO then its great.
