I have an '89 Nissan 240SX with a blown SOHC ka24e and a friend willing to give me his DOHC ka24de and all of the parts necessary for the swap for a decent price, I just want to know if there are any modifications that need to be done to the engine bay for it to go in? and if anyone has done this before does everything bolt in and line up, ie: engine to existing tranny, engine to motor mounts...etc?

No mod for the engine bay. Should be a straight forward swap except for the electrical connections. Make sure you get the engine harness from DE thats non cut to make life easier.

Since you are swapping engines, it's a good time to change the engine mounts.

Check out www.240sx.org , it has a thorough guide on the swap and other helpful info.

That motor swap should be fairly easy however there may be some electrical connections that won't be the same at the idle speed control and a few others engine compartment will be the same exhaust might even bolt straight up. You will not be gaining much power. Better than pushing it around the driveway I guess.
