Sound stopped coming out of my speakers?

I have digital cable and for some reason the sound stopped working. I don't what it could be. Any suggestions??

Check all your connections, then try playing a tape or DVD. If that gives you sound, it's the cable box. If still no sound, check the remote for the TV and see if you might have accidentally muted the sound. Also, while you've got your remote(s) out, check the batteries.
Check all the settings on your TV. You may have changed something and the TV is looking for sound from someplace else.

It none of this works, try to find a good repairman.
