You believe in God/s because you are ignorant about science.
What you call spiritual is what scientists call psychological.
All your experiences with God happen in brain.
Universe is so complex, it can't just be by itself but a more complex God can be just by itself, right?
Illogical.
God is not the reason for your existence.
The universe is.
You believe that God/s intervene in universe because you are a romantic or you look for a scapegoat.
We are the reasons for our successes or our failures.
Gravity is the reason for not falling into the sky.
The order of the organelles is the reason of being alive and so on.

1. My experiences of them.
2. My experiences of them.
Obviously, the experience of a god is an intervention of a sort.
Now, if you go with the actual dictionary definition of deism, not your definition, I am assuredly not a deist, as the laws of the universe and the gods are different and non-interactive. However, just as we can subvert "laws" with energy, so too can the gods. There are a few I think the gods can't do, however.

I am a Polytheist so I believe in many gods and goddesses.I believe they do intervene in the universe when they want to.
Why?Because, like some others who've answered,I have had personal experiences with them and their powers.

I have always believed, I feel a spiritual presence ever time I am out in nature. I cannot help but feel that God controls the universe.

I believe in my mother Goddess because i have felt her.
I guess I must be a theist ...how can spirit exist within everything and not interact in the universe?

I believe in my gods because of personal experience with them. It's really that simple.
I am a theist for the same reason: they are here, they speak with me, they help me and guide and me periodically give me a needed kick in the pants.

1. I was drawn to them from a little child. I find peace with them and some of the Gods I worship my ancestors did also.
2.I'm neither really.

I'm non-theistic, but I just wanted to tell you that you may have to add another possibility. Some Pagans are pantheistic, and would not consider themselves theists or deists.

Q: 1) Why do you believe in God or Gods?
A: It's what works for me, though what I believe falls more in the diest realm as you've defined it, than in the theist one.
