If you adopt an animal through the Humane Society, it will come with all it's shots and usually microchipped.

What do you need a blood test for? If you got a free puppy somewhere, you will have to pay for these things. There are low cost vaccination clinics that often visit pet stores and malls for an afternoon, check your local pet stores for flyers. Your Humane Society might be able to help by selling you a low cost series. I purchased a "puppy pack" of shots for $39. It was a voucher to use at the vet, it was about half price of what a normal visit and the vaccines would have cost.

You should DEFINITELY donate blood, it truly does save lives and you may be one of the special people with a rare blood type. The only difference between a lab draw and a donation is they use a slightly larger needle and they leave it in the vein for longer. It's not painful, at the worst its a bit uncomfortable

You know the people that do that have bills to pay to.

The amount of people who expect that vet care should be free amazes me.

On that note, try your local shelter. They aren't free by any means, but some do offer discounted vet care.

My local humane society has a low-income clinic where vet services are provided at a fraction of the cost, but you have to prove that you are low-income. Check your local humane society.

I don't know if they're available in your area, but SNAP (Spay and Neuter Assistance Program) gives low cost care. They even give free care to pets of AIDS patients. I think that's wonderful.

I read your other questions, I'm assuming you're asking for your friend and her dog.

Call your RSPCA and ask them for referrals to low cost clinics.
