Mark 24-27

24: Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. [a] He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret.

25: In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an evil [b] spirit came and fell at his feet.

26: The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.

27: "First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs."

Great question.

I believe that Jesus, if he existed, didn't think that the Gentiles were to be included in the Salvation plan. He makes it pretty clear.

It isn't until Paul comes along and uses circular doctrine to include Gentiles into the 'chosen people' fold. Which seems like a dramatic change of direction from God.

Earlier in Matthew 10 Jesus is telling his disciples to go out and preach the Good News in his name. He explicitely tells them to avoid Gentiles and Gentile towns.

Why would God spend 4000 years keeping the jews separate from Gentiles raising entire towns and killing all the gentiles including women and children, only to change his mind 60 years after Jesus' death and include them into the fold.

Especially considering he knows the future and could see that the Gentiles would incorporate pagan ritual into his religion, which is why he was keeping the Jews separate from the Gentiles in the first place.

None of it works, unless Paul was going out on a limb by himself and creating doctrine because he was a Roman Jew and wanted some of his Roman friends to go to heaven.

Jesus certainly included several gentiles in His compassion. The most outstanding example I can think of offhand is the Centurion's servant.
He was rather pleased with the Centurion's attitude...he felt that he was unworthy that Jesus should even enter his house, but he knew that Jesus had the authority to heal his servant without seeing or touching him.
Prophetically, Jesus was to be sent to bless "all the nations of the earth", not just Israel, as Abraham was told before Isaac, "the son of promise" was born. Later on, Isaiah would confirm this prophecy, as would other prophets, when he said something along the lines that it was not enough, to make God's servant the King of Israel, but that God had given Him all the nations of the world as His own property (I'll have to look that one up).
To answer your question:
My own thought is that Jesus is teaching His disciples here about their own attitude toward gentiles...otherwise, why did He lead them here in the first place?

Jesus came to the Jews, the chosen people of God and they didn't know Him in the temple. Some Jews knew Him, but most did not. Jesus knew the Gentiles would come to know Him, but he mainly came for the House of Israel. He knew after the cross the Gentiles would come to know Him.

Jesus had many people wanting Him to heal them of the Jews and He would get nothing done if the Gentiles knew of Him.

The wages of sin is death. We were all dead in sin and dogs until Jesus went to the cross for us. At that very moment that Jesus made that statement He knew of only a few with the patriarchs who were going to heaven with Him. It was not time for the Gentiles to know Him. The Bible says that in the fulfillment of time Jesus came into the world. There is a time for everything and this is God's plan.

He was testing her faith to see if she would keep on trying or give up.The fact is ,to the Jew,every non Jew was a dog. When she answers Him she uses the words "Even the little dogs catch the crumbs" ....In other words Ok ,I'll take anything you have.
And of course ,He healed the girl.He gave parables about the Lord's love for the Gentiles all through His ministry.Parable of Good Samaritan,Samaratan woman at the well,Elijah and Elisha's healing of Gentiles,Healing the centurion's servant etc, etc.

Why did Jesus get upset with the Pharisees when they asked him why the desciples eat w/ filthy unwashed hands?

Whats wrong with washing your hands before you eat ??????

Mark 7

1 The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus

2 and saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed.

3 (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders.

4 When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles. [a])

5 So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?"

6 He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
" 'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.

7 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.' [b]

This is a perfect example of taking a text out of context

If you read further you will see that Jesus grants the woman her desire for her faith.

Jesus is perfect, the Bible is perfect and any supposed errors in them are in the mind of the interpreter

Because He came to the Jews first and was going to use the Jews to minister to the Gentiles but the Jews rejected Him as their messiah. The Jews did not associate with the Greeks at that time and considered them dogs. He did if you will read on heal her daughter because of her faith.
