my ex tried to kill me several years ago. he is back in jail for beating up on another girl. i have tried to find out when he will get out but the law won't let me know anything. i haven't felt safe since he did this to me. i am scared to go out of my house. now that he is back in jail i feel a little better. but i need tofind out how long he will be in there and when he gets out. please tell me who i can get in touch with to find out when.

Contact the Sheriff's office where he is held. That is if he has been sentenced already. If not, and he is awaiting bond to be set. Then you may have a problem. He could theoretically be release this afternoon if a bond is set.

the only way i can think of is if the DA presses charges. You can be a witness as to previous bad acts. This can be a way for you to be notified if and/or when he is released. if you contacted the DAs office and they did not or refused to help you, check with the current girlfriend. She might be willing to tell you since you both know what it is like to be on the wrong end of his anger. Other than that I have no clue. Good luck

Try applying for an emergency protective order before he gets out, then if he comes within a specified amout of space or harrasses you over the phone or verbally he will be arrested.
