we're told to have hope, and yet the evil continues..
we're told to have faith, and yet evil surrounds us
we're told to pray and yet our prayers seem to fall on deaf ears
we're told to look on he bright side and yet the darkness continues to engulf us
we're told to reject the bad, and yet the good still struggles
we're told to love each other, and yet hate is pervasive all over
we're told to feed the hungry, and yet starvation is par for course
we're told not to kill, and yet killing is now a sport
we're told to marry and propogate and yet we use the excuse of "choice" if there is an unwanted pregnancy.
.
How I wish we were all strong enough to pray together to ONE God, and to rid the earth of its many evils.

Until then, I continue to wonder...

no hesahama - I was simply looking for answers--you provided some of them-- and for one of the first answerers, I am not an atheist. I just think a lot...and this is a question and answer forum. I ask. You answer--IF you can. No need to assume...

I thabnk you for your answers. However, you realize that these are the very same answers that have been put forth for millineums. People live. People die. We really do not know what happens after we die. If we are to believe, literally hundreds of billions of people await the return of the son of God.
Until then, do the faithful from millineums ago, continue to sleep? When we die, do we sleep also...until the return of the son of God.
I continue to wonder.

Maybe if God would make it stop and not let his people suffer people will believe, until then I continue to wonder

we're told to have hope to test our perseverance
we're told to have faith to have hope
we're told to pray for it's the only way to communicate with God
we're told to look on the bright side because worse things could happen to you
we're told to reject the bad, because it corrupts you
we're told to love each other because love is the only thing that brings people together
we're told to feed the hungry because we are able to feed the hungry
we're told not to kill because you yourself were created
we're told to marry and propogate to fill this earth, wanted or unwanted.
You ought to try and think hard. Just pray to God and ask for his virtue.
But then again no matter what I say you'd probably think I'm an idiot.

The world around us is a complicated, ever changing place. I would question someone who tells me that all I have to do is this & it will solve that. The only answer is that there is no pat answer. No magic bullet. But to strive in your everyday life to make a difference. You question is laced with defeatist attitude. I see much good in the world. I am also concerned that you have been taught that all that has to be done is believe in one god & all will be right ( preferably yours). I don't know you, but I can tell you that I don't believe in a god that teaches this.

Why do we need to pray to him? Doesn't he already notice that this stuff is going on?

If we pray to him, will it all stop? And if it does, wouldn't that mean that either God wasn't paying attention or that you somehow changed the mind of an all-powerful being?

I prayed a lot to this God when I was a believer, to intervene in my suffering as well as the suffering of my loved ones. And nothing ever happened.

So don't hold your breath.

Don't wonder. Read the Bible.
It tells you this would be how things are.
The world is getting worse.
The end is coming.
Jesus is the only answer.
Wishing we were all strong enough won't do, because we can't rid the world of it's evil. Only Jesus can.
Do you know him?

I continue to wonder when people will stop telling others "you really should believe in my god", and start letting people live their lives as they want to.

You are right, that evil exists..but be of Good Cheer..
Christ has overcome evil..and will soon put everything wrong..to right..

But..you must know God to enter into his rest. You must ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your heart and save you.
Then you will know the peace that passes all understanding and will be able to live in this world..as it is.

You think the problem lies with the separation of religions?...
it lies with the separation of rationality.
