I've Had my septum piercing in just over two months.
I took it out last night because I had a really bad cold. Now I want to put it back in.
It hasn't been out for over 24 hours and I can still find the hole, but the hole has shrunk.
I can fit a small bar of an earring in, but not my retainer.

Does anyone have any idea's on how I can stretch it a tiny bit more?
Thanks in advance.

oooh! you might have to go see your piercer, they have things for that I cant think of the word for it right now but it will be thinner on one end and get larger to open it back up. a taper maybe? sorry not so much help!

Well, most septums are pierced at a 14 or 16 so if you stop stretching at a 10 or 12, it will probably shrink back down. I pierced mine with a 14 gauge hollow needle and I took it out for three hours and it partially closed. If you stretch past a 0 gauge, chances are it won't shrink back to the original size.

Vaseline isn't recommended as a lubricant for body jewelry because it's not water based. At 2 months, you may still be healing, which is part of why it tightened up so much kind of quickly. Hot shower may help. You can use soap and water as a lubricant. Or you can get water based "personal" lubricant at the pharmacy section...I believe both KY and Astro-glide are water based. I've been able to do all my jewelry changes with just liquid soap and water, but with the shrinking, you may need to leave the earring in and get to your piercer so they can use a taper. You don't want to cause any damage by forcing it without the right tools. It might cost you $10 or so to get it tapered, but it would be better than causing pain and trauma to what is still a pretty new piercing.

you can probably do it with a size 14 taper and some vaseline:

try it after a hot shower - this helps, also use vaseline (and don't take it out in future...)
