lol i think that sometimes but for the most part I don't think they are a legal mob, I just think they'll let anyone in. There are cops that look for the best interest of the people; promoting and maintaining safety and I appreciate them very much. Yet, there are those jerk cops who abuse their 'power'. There's good and bad in everything.

If they behave with a mob mentality, then it is not legal, by the laws of the USA. Some do behave this way - and no it isn't legal, but yes, they get away with it every day. That's real world answer.

Only the sympathetic to criminal society feel this negative way towards police. Hopes are high cops bust you with the goods and you find prison time for your criminal activity.

Your local prison has a comfy dorm or cell waiting for you...no rush: they'll leave a light on for ya.

most police officers are decent people ,but there are some who abuse their power and are like a mob .many police in my nieghborhood have been fired or suspended for beating innocent citizens because the incidents were caught on video.if it wasn't for the video the officers would still be out assaulting innocent people.most of the incidents occurred when the officers were off duty.

in some city's yeah the town i live in they have little quirks if they don't like someone they go above and beyond the law to get the person, most of them hang in there own little click they are ands were out cast in school they let personal feelings inter fear with the true duties of being an officer, allot of them couldn't do a real 9 to 5 job in a field that would require real labor. and yes giving the right circumstances i do believe that they would do more than they get away with now, they seem to break the same laws they swore to uphold so yes they are a gang in sorts.

yes, i am quite dissapointed / frustrated by corrupt cops / issues with current system. think it is too big problem to fix / probably best to fire them all and reorganize. maybe hire private security / outsource like cia was done ? pay better to attract better candidates. tougher laws when the are caught harrassing / abusing citizens, planting evidence , taking bribes etc. 1st offense mandatory 10 years and huge financial penalties. MADD was a small group that made major changes to drunk driving laws. Citizens can unite, organize and get tougher laws for corrupt cops. Model organizations after MADD business models.

Job performance/ crime / justice is not measured in how much revenue they can collect or how many convictions they win. study quality systems such as GE's six sigma and find a better way to measure for performance results. customer satisfaction might be a better measure . hire a consultant to study if needed. cops do report to us utimately ? most of them seem unaware of this though. we've given them too much authority / and it's been abused. we need to control them / make them accountable. this system they have to lie for each other must be stopped . the need more ethics / to think higher level . need more leadership instead of management / development of career paths inside the cops organizations. you must reward the good ones / keep your top talent. honestly think people are better exchanging too much freedoms for laws? Each law results in a lesser amount of our freedom we value. we need to become a society that self manages our own behaviors is responsible with freedoms . we should have enough common sense not to do things that would cause us to have to interact with a police in the first place. we need to self control not push our personal responsibility / accountabililty back to the governments job to do for us. if we managed our own behavior there would be no need for enforcement / we'd have less of them to need to manage if our own people were more educated/

In my area we have 40 citizens now that are concerned with the corrupt cops issues. we are forming strategy now. will execute plans as soon as possible. we will try to fight the legal mob. citizens must purchase camcorder recording device and get used to feeling more comfortable with technology and security. the camera can be your friend / proof of every police encounter. we need to have devices installed into new cars manufactured. we need attorneys availabel for traffic consultations 24/7 hotlines we can dial from cell phones. suggest a prepaid legal plan ? much like a motor club would be used for road side emergencies. traffic stops have become dangerous for citizens. we must continue to capture and document evidence of this.

please rally for support . AMERICA MUST NOT BECOME A POLICE STATE ... FREEDOM IS OUR HERITAGE AND BIRTHRIGHT. We must take responsibility to control corrupt cops to preserve freedoms. Freedoms are becoming eroded by laws / police/ government. Quite a complex problem.

The badge really needs to be made of Gold and not copper.
We just need higher standards that are worthy of the Gold / value / respect that go with this. The standard/ our expectations for their performance should become the highest . The badge has been devalued / perhaps was never has valued as it should have been ? I believe you get what you pay for.
