We are taught at a young age, or to most it is COMMON SENSE, that staring is RUDE. But mexican men stare women down at wal-mart and everywhere they see them and some times they smile and talk in spanish at us. I know they are saying something dirty. Why do they do this?
I ask this because yesterday I went to a resturant with my friend and they place was full on them and everytime we looked around they were staring us down. Thats so rude I want to scream at them, but they would have done no good because they wouldnt understand me anyways!

It seems like where ever the majority of u are from, u guys dont have as many illegals there..ya know how I know they are illegal? THEY DONT SPEAK ENGLISH!!! lol! When u take the citizinship test u have to be able to read english! My case proven!!!!

i dont know... every time i leave wal mart there there watching the behind of each chic that goes by,like how gross is that,unclean people! and so as i went buy to test out my theery i looked back and all eyes were on me Yep! im always uncomfturble around them with there eyes burning through my cloths.

How do you know they are saying something dirty? do you speak spanish? they could be saying how beautiful you look or that their wife has the same shirt as you. You have no idea. And just because they don't seem to appear to know english does not mean they are illegal. My boyfriend is Mexican and whenever I go out with him & his family they all only speak spanish. Every one of them knows English but they are more comfortable speaking spanish with each other. And when my boyfriend speaks english he has a very thick accent so even though he is fluent in english it appears broken like he doesn't know it.
Yes, them staring can be considered rude but you jumping to conclusions about them & talking the way you are is rude too so the cultural differences can go both ways.

Honey yours is a typical case of culture clash. Mexican males are hot blooded - they will stare at women especially if they are blondes. You should go to Italy - there they do more than stare - they grope - especially on buses during the rush hour. I don't know what you look like but I bet you're pretty and any man would stare. They were chattering away in Spanish you say - well they were probably saying what all males say when they get together. And screaming at them would probably turn them on - they would take it as a sign that you're just as hot blooded.
I don't want to be misunderstood but since they were staring (probably not knowing that this would cause offense) they found you attractive. I mean you can't blame a man (whatever his origins) to look at what is pleasing.
By the way Anglo Saxon males check you out too - only they do it in a more refined way.

MEN DESPITE OF ANY ETHNICITY THEY STARE ON BEAUTIFUL LOVELY WOMEN... it's men's nature.
Don't be so over conscious on this. Saying something towards a stranger would only put you into a disadvantage especially if you don't know the language.
One thing.... don't be so prejudiced by "coloured-skin-people."
Even here in Europe and in a small-horse-town-city where I live, being tanned and "tainted" one gets a second-good-admiring stare or glance but it isn't oggling.
advice too... don't look into their direction nor make any eye-contact if that makes you feel better so you won't be irritated.
This is an effective way of avoiding such disturbing stares.

mexican women might like it in mexico, so the men think its ok to do it here too, blow it off, ignore it, get on with your day, just dont give them the attention or reaction they are looking for if you're not interested! and you'd be surprised at how much they really do understand what you are saying.....

PLEASE tell me that you are kidding! There are men of every color and nationality that stare at women inappropriately. I've been "stared down" in wal-mart by men before, and I'm not sure that any of the men doing the "staring down" were Mexican. I think the real story here is that if a white man checked you out, you'd be flattered, but because you've apparently got a prejudice against Mexican men, you're offended when they look at you. Get over it! If this is your biggest problem, consider yourself lucky.

FYI - inability to speak English is NOT proof that they're illegal aliens. Ever heard of a work visa? A student visa? People can live in the U.S. without being citizens and without being illegal. its not only mexicans that do it, and its not only white women they stare at.
Although i find ur question abit racist..
Alot of guys do this..i dont really know why, i know its uncomfortable and really really annoying, i guess they find you really pretty but cant be bothered talking to you and think its ok to act like a jerk and look you up and down.

Honey are you pretty? Maybe even "beautiful"? If you can honestly answer yes to either question, then you have your answer as to why ANY man is staring at you. Ethnicity has nothing to do with being a "man", and men tend to stare at women they consider to be attractive. Rude or not, it is a fact of life.
So who are you going to be mad at? The men staring at you? Or God for making you so attractive?
