This is funny because it describes my relationship exactly. I am 23 and my girlfriend is 26. I believe dating an older woman is the "new thing". Personally, I cannot stand younger girls because they tend to be extremely immature. I'm not trying to generalize but it definitely seems to be a trend.

My girlfriend has said many times how I am more mature then the guys she dated before me, which were all older than her.

It seems to be a win-win situation for both of us, and I know we're both crazy about each other. (Been dating for 2.5 years)

My cousin is engaged to an older girl (Also about 3 years older) and my brother is dating older. Like I said its the new "Thing to do"

So to answer your question, I really believe they are more likely to succeed. My father is 2 years younger than my mother, and they're still happily married.

Good luck!

Its not wrong if both people are comfortable with it. My sweetie is 9 years younger than me. I had a problem with it at first. I wondered what this young guy would want with an "old fart" like me. As time as passed, it has become a non-issue. I no longer think about it. We are extremely compatible and very much in love. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If it works, it works. Celebrate and enjoy.

(by the way - the women in my family have had the best luck with younger men ;) )

3 yrs is nothing to worry about. You are close enough in age to have the same interests. Every woman in my immediate family, myself included, is older than her man. It varies from 1 week to 4 years & we're all very happy in our relationships. The only one that didn't last was when the guy was older...15 yrs older.

Three years hardly makes her an 'older woman' in it's truest sense. Nothing wrong with dating older women, I'd draw the line at the medically infirmed, bed ridden or colostomy bagged but your average granny should be OK

It is perfectly fine. Consider yourself lucky. The old "wives tale" says marry a man 7 yrs younger than you since women live longer. Now if it was 13 and 16 that would be a different story.

Personally, in my experience men aren't as mature as women, and I find men the same age as me immature.

Unless it is a MUCH older woman, looking to rejuvinate her youth, I don't think these relationships are as successful.

there is nothing wrong at all with it, its not really a big age gap, i married my husband last week and there is an 11 year age gap between us (27 years old and 38 years old), its not how old you are, its how old you act and feel. we act the same age as eachother (both big kids, we also have 2 kids together) and are on the same wave length, like the same things etc so we get on great.

Age has nothing to do with anything.

I'm 26, and my girlfriend is 41 - and I've never met a happier couple.

I'd rather have a woman than a girl any day :D

Age doesn't matter. The success or failure of any relationship shall depend on both man and woman. It's the quality of each other's commitment that counts. good luck!
