Is it ok to drink Smirnoff straight, not diluted?

Its 37.5%, I just had a sip straight from the bottle and it tasted horrible - almost burning in my mouth, made my eyes water..

If you are going to drink vodka neat, at least make it a decent one. Little wonder you had that reaction with Smirnoff... at best it is one above supermarket own brand... total gnats pee.
Better off with Stoli, Grey Goose, Absolute, Sky etc

It depends on how much you drink and how tolerant you are to alcohol and body mass is a major factor. If you're small, young and not an experienced drinker it takes very little to have a great effect. One shoot (1 ounce) you'll get a good buzz, two shoots, you're drunk, three shoots you'll be drunker than Cooter Brown and running naked in the streets without a care about anything that may happen to you. My advise is to not drink until you are of legal drinking age in your area or to stay away from it completely for your entire life. If/when you are lucky enough to be old and gray and have grandchildren (which are the greatest thing on earth) you will not regret the fact you never indulged in drinking alcohol or smoking. I've smoked and drank since I was 16 and am now 53 in ill health with a really wonderful 4 year old grandson that's the smartest, sharpest kid of his age. I teach everything I can and he sucks it all up like a dry sponge and he's truly amazing. My biggest regret at this time is my years being cut short from an unhealthy lifestyle and knowing I wont be around to see the things he will accomplish in his lifetime. He is one truly exceptional being. Don't start off life on the wrong foot and regret it later when things matter the most in life.

Why would you bother? If you want a sipping vodka go up to a Absolute kept frozen or Sky, anything better. That burning is no fun and well, kinda risky behavior. Take care.

FYI save the Smirnoff for the Bloody Mary's needed the next morning. Raw egg, Worcestershire, Tabasco, salt pepper and zest of limes. A ice pack of peas for the brain. Vodka hang overs last over the burning experience. Trust me.

well as a Russian, who drinks about 2 times a week heavily, vodka should only be drunk strait through a shot glass and maybe using a cranberry juice chaser. but Smirnoff will make you have a hangover, may i suggest Stolichnaya, Gray Goose, or Russian Standard, ::) bottoms up.
p.s the perfect temperature for vodka is from the refrigerator not the freezer as some will assume.

Notice how DILUTE & POLLUTE sound similar?
To drink vodka straight stick it in the freezer for 12 hours or more. No, it won't freeze, it will just cut back on the burn. Vodka is MEANT to be drunk very cold.
And don't believe the old wives tale about not getting a hangover, it isn't true.

Mixing it with tonic is the way boys drink. Comes into the same category as lager and lime or bitter top. Vodka should be drunk in shots at one go. With practise it ceases to hurt or burn because your body is ready for the sensation. One note of caution though. Neat drinks can cause mouth cancer so be very sparing.

practise and you will discover the true taste, also if you stick the bottle in the freezer overnight or for a few days, dont worry about freezing as it wont,and the effect is a hell of a lot better

You can, but why would you want to. If you are going to drink Vodka straight get a better quality one, like Grey Goose, or Belvidere. Also you could try flavored Stoli. And keep it in the freezer if you are going to drink it straight. As always please drink responsibly.

If you don't like the taste, then why bother? Find a good tasting mix for you, and mix it... r u just trying to get drunk? Or what? Mix with lemonaid, and you will hardly taste the vodka...
