It all depends on what kind of baby parrot you want and what kind of talking you expect out of it, males are known to be the better talkers, you also have to take into account the cage and accesories the bigger the bird the more expensive the cage, I have a Cockatiel although not the best of talkers he is under 4 mths and already is talking quite clear he says his name, pretty boy and he does the wolf whistle, he is still quite young so I am sure he will pick up many more before he is done.
My tiel was hand raised and cost 75.00

I can only advise you of the two types of parrots that I personally own. Their cost depends on their availability in your area.

I have an African grey parrot, the best talker that I know of, although I am sure there are others out there. The cost from a breeder averages around $900. There is another very small true parrot that you can teach to talk and it is a pacific parrotlet, a true amazon parrot. Depending on their availability, they can range from $85 to $500 depending on their color - from green to light blue and an albino, which costs even more. Parrotlets are only about 5 inches long and do not get any larger.

baby parrots do not talk. Fully grown parrots that have, over the course of years, been trained to "talk" are quite expensive and a big responsibility. They also live a long long time if they are given the proper care and nurturing. Please consider why you would want a parrot before you purchase one. They are a life long commitment.

Well babies do not talk and it really depends on the bird itself not all birds talk.

I bought a hand read cockatiel last week it was seven weeks old just been weaned when it was six weeks lol and it cost me $180 just for the bird lol, but i love it so much, money well spent and the breeder is great.

It depends lol, on the breeder and more on the bird and you wont no until the bird is older lol. i would not buy a bird just because they are meant to talk lol.

Buy on because you have a passion for birds lol.
