would you agree with building walls around all our coastal borders? i think it would help border security, how accurate is our patrol system realy working right now? all a terrorist has to do is "swim" over here, they have the money to buy all the right equipment to get here unnoticed accross the coast, lets face it sadaam had an underground castle. so would you agree with protecting our coastlines? why or why not? and if not by a wall then how would you protect them?

This would be very expensive. It would also be tricky to do this in a way that did not make it very difficult for cargo ships to go in and out, and would probably have immense environmental implications. If the patrols aren't effective (and unless they're looking the other way on the Cubans, we know they aren't), maybe more patrols are needed, but a sea wall around thousands of miles of coastline just isn't practical.

I believe in this day an age we need to step up our security and any illegal should have a prison to determine if any are terrorist. When I say any illegal I mean all. Look at what happened in Germany about a month ago. terrorist where stop from bombing the airports that our military use. whats to say they would not try that here. we do not no who we are fighting in this kind of war. If found guilty they should be shot. not doubt in my mind a wall around our cost lines no. the cost guard should step up there efforts and the navy should do more as well the local law enforcements should have a little more power over what happens to illegals and our government should grow a pair. As Americans we have most relaxed laws for immigration, it needs to stop.

It shows YOUR intelligence for suggesting that illegal aliens will "swim" into our country. Pray tell, from WHICH country are you proposing they "swim" from?? China?? Spain??

Realistically the only countries an illegal alien could "swim" from and arrive in the U.S. would be Canada or Mexico, and obviously this will be right along the border. Even Cuba is too far to swim, 90 miles across shark infested waters.

It is the job of our COAST GUARD to protect and guard our international waters and coasts, ports, and inland waterways. And I, who have served with them, can attest to their effectiveness and professionalism.

To add to this, border patrol does operate a fleet of boats to enforce our immigration laws along our waterways bordering other countries. It is not feasible to build a wall around our country to block our coastlines.

EDIT:

Here, agian (you mean AGAIN), let me "capitolise", (you mean CAPITALIZE)...my words so maybe you will read them better. Seems like you have spelling problems as well...several others misspellings, but I'll let them slide...in the interest of saving time.

A TERRORIST ISN'T GOING TO "SWIM" INTO OUR COUNTRY ANY EASIER THAN AN ILLEGAL ALIEN WILL.

And by definition, anybody that enters our country illegally is an illegal alien, terrorists included...and your response to this is what??

Do you think terrorists "swimming" into this country or entering in any other matter illegally are NOT illegal aliens?

Border security is much much more than merely preventing terrorism. Terrorism is but one thing border security attempts to control or limit. But border security also includes reducing illegal immigration, among other things. If you would like a link, I will attempt to educate you. 22 years in the military, I think I learned a thing or two...

Clearly you are being facetious.
We have an enormous influx across land from the border with Mexico.
It is sensible we address this.

OK... so you didn't get my implied answer... what you suggest is not sensible.
