can i watch a UMD from psp to ps3 on big screen?

As I understand it, no. However with the new PSP lite, you will be able to.

You can directly view psp on big screen if you own a psp slim,
but otherwise you cant do it directly,
you should search for some homebrew software for it if you can run homebrew.

You can view it on PSP slim through its TVout connection. On old PSP you can watch only movies through USB.
