Have just checked availability on Skyscanner for a o/w flight Tenerife to Manchester, and providing you can be flexible with your dates you will have no trouble at all. If you click on to a particular month that you wish to make the journey in, a graph type display will guide you to all the dates and prices.
The cheapest for Oct. seem to have gone, but the best one in the near future is with First Choice, on the 13th Oct. for £81.56. On the 30th, Jet 2 have a flight for £90.19, whilst in Nov. the best seems to be with Thomas Cook, at £60.99.
There are a choice of dearer flights available through both months. I should mention that these prices are "live" and therefore change.
Good luck.

I made the very same one way flight from Tenerife to Manchester on Friday.

Thomson will price it in Euros and oblige you to pay by credit card (no debit cards) and levy a surcharge on you for doing so, why is beyond me but that's the way it is.

Many of the familiar UK charter airlines will now allow you to book flights in this way as will scheduled operators like BA. Check their individual websites. I'd avoid the likes of Expedia, they do not search on charter airlines so will often quote you prices for scheduled airlines (flying via Madrid, Frankfurt etc) hundreds of pounds over and above what you could be paying on a charter airline.

I think you will find that for some reason a one way ticket is always more expensive than a round trip, perhaps you might book the round trip but not use the return flight.
