My daughter has it on her legs and it looks really bad. The doctor said it would go on its own but this could take up to 2 years.

Has anyone had this condition and managed to get rid of it? Any suggestions would be gratefully received as my daughter has just started school and she is very self concious about them.

Both of my girls have had it as have my nieces. Unfortunately there is no cure for it and time is the only answer. Don't use a steroid cream as this can make it worse, I say this as if your child has excema it is something you may have in the cupboard and my try. I was advised to lift of the scabs when they appear to help clear it up quicker. My eldest had it for 2 1/2 years we coped it isn't painful it is just annoying and more people than you realise have had it.

My son had it in his head earlier this year i was surprised when the doctor said it could take 2 years to clear as my sons hair is short and it was clearly visible, but after 5 weeks luckily it had cleared up.I have read that you can squeeze out the yellow pus but it will cause scarring,i do hope your daughter clears up as quickly as my son did.

Here is a good site, which gives concise, straightforward info. I was surprised to learn, here, that OTC wart preparations may help remove lesions. Good luck with this. I know it is hard for your daughter. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000826.htm
