Your on the right track. We DO have alot to be grateful for. We all have sad things happen to us. Take your lovely dogs for long walks each day. Smile at people. Stop to smell the roses. Dwell on the good things and the bad will melt into the background.

Life is what we make of it.
My fahter dies of a stroke aged 34 and his father of a strok aged 72; ditto my mother aged 48 nad her mother aged 82 and her grandmother aged 66. Personally i am 56 and enjoy each day as much as possible as I figure I have been given some bonus years - despite the old angina. So lift that chin up and take those dogs for a walk and - if you do not have one - find yourself a new partner. Good luck.

One the important things in life is a network of emotional support, I myself have little family left; my friends are therefore my family in times of need. But it is necessary to recognize that ultimately one's best friend is oneself, by any means help others, always remember though, that your first duty is to look out for your own needs. Never be afraid to ask for help when you need it, accepting that sometimes or some people may not give it, that is OK too.

infobod, I'm sorry to hear that your feeling so down at the moment, but for every downturn in life there is an upside, your lovely dogs for instance, rely on good memories for now and make sure you have good friends around you. I'm rooting for you

the way i see it is life is just like purgutory and we just plod along and pay bills etc and get put down alot but all this reflects on us when we die, this life is our school and exams etc and when we pass over that is when we have our real life, with no pain and no suffering and lots of fun....i hope so anyway coz there has to be something better than this!all the best and keep your chin up

It is very sad, but people die and we can't get away from that. I have lots of losses. I still cry over them. Find people you are comfortable to talk to, perhaps a support group. In time, when you talk about it, you don't hurt quite as bad.
