I think inheritance tax is awful for a start if you have worked and saed all that money why should he government hae 40% when you die. its not a rich tax because a lot of poor old ladies save their money for their families to have after they die. Also house prices hae risen so sharply, but hats not the fault of the dead person. Normally I dont like the tories but I must say that their policies look rather tempting, just a shame I have no faith that they will keep their promise !

The rich don't pay Inheritance Tax ! They have accountants to minimise the amount of tax they pay. Why do you think famous people leave so little money when they die ? They have put it in trusts and out of reach of the tax man.
If the rich paid it, how does the Marquis of Bath manages to keep Longleat as the family home. It is a tax paid by the hard working people in the country who have saved and never claimed from the state.

With the increase in house prices - millions have been swept into the net. It should be abolished, or a threshold of £500,000 set.

I think the rich pay far more tax than they should anyway.

It's stupid... i mean some people save really hard to leave something to their family, it doesn't make them rich and it can make life much harder losing nearly half of that.
