Originally Christianity and Islam are same religions. These have same basis, same origin. But when Saint Paul introduced new ideas about original sin, Jesus sacrifice for that and concept of Trinity etc. then Christianity diverged from original Islamic path. Now Christians find them confused in these baseless ideas. Even an intelligent scientist like Newton could not understand these mysteries despite being a firm believer of God.
When a Christian comes to Islam he find reply to all his questions. And who will say night is day after seeing the real day.

honestly it's because in christianity you have a battle whithin by denying yourself as a muslim the battle is not neccesarily with yourself but with others. Also the christian may have not been a christian at all. Once you recieve the gift of christ and you turn away it is impossible to get it back. So typically God is done with them.
Hebrews 6
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

not going to happen since i am 64 and wife near to it. anyhow i remember when my son came home from school after about 2 days into it and informs my wife and i that if we ever discipline him or our daughter again that the police will come and deal with us for child abuse. apparently the school made this decision to be acting guardians of all their students regardless of what homes the kids came from and they didn't have a clue about what we were really like. so like i told the kids if you think you would rather live somewhere else then pack your bags and off you go and have a great life. no more complaints from them after this confrontation of who might have their best interests at heart

a more direct path to God?
why should it bother anyone? Christianity has become so irrelevant to so many people... I understand islam better than christianity, and thats coming from a catholic background.
I tune into telecast calls to prayer because it calls to your heart, islam is very straight forward in communication with god and his will. just like christianity there are so many different branches in islam, but each branch of islam tends to stick to the same basic tenets.
The five pillars of faith:
Faith or belief in the Oneness of God and the finality of the prophethood of Muhammad;
Establishment of the daily prayers;
Concern for and almsgiving to the needy;
Self-purification through fasting; and
The pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able.
For those out there who don't understand Islam, go educate yourselves, for someone raised in a catholic household, Islam is more honest and relevant to me that christianity ever was.

Anyone who converts to anything else usually does so because they dont plan on returning to the original belief.
I dont know much about Islam and I am a Christian. I have no plans on converting because my life is a simple and happy one.

They were probably Catholic christians and liked repititious prayers and rituals. Islam has even more of this than the catholics so they thought they had found heaven. Empty rituals and prayers get a person nowhere fast.
