Jermain's problem is that he doesn't listen to Emmanuel Stewerd. He needs to go back to his original trainer because ever since he's been with Manny, he's not been fighting like he used to. He's not jabbing like he used to, and he's always fighting going backwards now. He keeps backing himself into corners and getting hit. He didn't used to get hit as much as he is now. If he's not going to listen to Manny, he either needs to go back to his original coach, or retire because everybody is going to knock him out if he continues to fight like this.

What happened to Taylor was 2 things: 1) As I have said before....part of what enabled Pavlik to get off the canvas in round 2 was the fact that he momentarilly escaped further punishment from Taylor by going down in the center of the ring instead of being trapped on the ropes like Taylor was in round 7-----2) Other than the post fight statement by Taylor that he expended more energy & wasted punches in round 2 trying to finish Pavlik.....I was thinking exactly what Lennox Lewis said when he commented that Jermain had to be saying to himself: " Holy Crap !!!...I hit this guy with everything that I had & I can't believe that he is still getting up ?? ". I believe that Taylor was probably thinking something along those lines & that would have more than likely affected his performance for the rest of the fight-------Lastly, as Buffer said before the fight " for one of these fighters ...the 0s gotta go "---there is definitely a future for Taylor & Pavlik....

Taylor is one of those guys who fires all his guns at once just like he did Saturday night.
He saves nothing for later. Therefore if the opponent figures him out early, Taylor can be beaten.
Taylor seems to lose confidence because he shows all his cards, then the guys still there!!! After that, the opponent's confidence just goes thru the roof because he's like "that's all you got?
He has the skills down, just no mental strategy. And, it showed when he got knocked down. He didn't want any more, because he had nothing else for Pavlik.

Taylor got lucky early and got to Pavlik who was still a bit in awe of his first mega-fight. Kudos to Taylor for realizing that was his only chance to win. Pavlik won't get caught like that again. Once the ball got rolling, it was only a matter of time until Pavlik's power would break Taylor down systematically until the end.

The rematch will be exciting. The problem I see for Taylor is he should have went down from the 1st big shot. He went into the corner & the ropes held him up to take about 3 real powerfull shots & the ref had no option but to stop the fight. If he goes down from the 1st big shot then maybe he gets himself together & can hold on for the remainder of the round & then with the 1 minute between rounds he could have gotten himself back together. According to the scorecards he was ahead on all. Hopefully in the rematch he won't be scared to get hit otherwise he'll just run away & it won't be a good fight.

Should be a rematch. Only this time, Taylor should take his time and box this power puncher without getting into a macho slugfest.
If there's no knockdowns Taylor breezes to a decision.
