when i put one on my right eye it stays moist and comfortable
but when i put it in my left eye it instantly becomes dry, and very uncomfortable. the doctor says my eyes are the same so it dosent matter which contacts to put in which eye.
does anyone know what the problem is?
i tried putting eye drops and putting water in my left eye and its no good..

Was your left eye uncomfortable before or is it something new-because defective lenses are common and sometimes it helps to change uncomfortable one.Besides even if you have the same prescription for both eyes there could be minimal differences between your eyes that cause this.
May be you should try different contacts
(the last is personal experience)

How odd.

I know that oil glands on the lids of your eyes secrete oil to help keep the eye stay moist. if too much or not enough oil is secreted, this will make your contacts feel dry.

Perhaps go to another optometrist for a second opinion?

water will make your eye even dryer. never put anything in your eye except eye drops made for soft contact lenses
