Hmmm i do not fully comprehend your question. As far as I know, i am a part of the Universe. I am measurable in mass. As far as "knowing" some infinite aspect of the Universe.... thats what i dont get.

Of course we're part of the universe. We're a very small part, a truth organized Christianity has been fighting almost since its creation; but we're here, on Earth, swirling on the outskirts of the Milky Way, one of the innumerable galaxies in the universe, containing mind-boggling numbers of solar systems, with even more stars, planets, moons, and who knows what else.
We can certainly understand some of the things around us, but absolute understanding cannot be read in any book, scientific or religious. No person, or humanity as a collective, now or in the conceivable future, will understand the universe or the hows and whys of our existence.
That's why I don't really get atheism - it seems almost like a knee-jerk reaction. To reject religious dogma is one thing, but to replace it with anti-religious dogma confuses me to some degree. People on either side of the religious/spiritual spectrum who claim to "know" lose all credibility in my eyes.
No faith I've practiced or studied answered all of my questions, stood up to science, or passed the litmus test of reality and reasonable doubt; and that's why I'm a proud agnostic. That's not to say I haven't been influenced by, and taken certain aspects of, some religions. From Christianity to Bhuddism, religion has had some positive influences on my life, but I worship no God, for he/she/they have not shown me the way.

well it appears that i'm made of the same stuff as the universe, so in that sense i would answer yes to your question. but the way i know about the universe is through my senses... pure thought doesn't really exist, it is mediated by physical interactions that we cannot be immediately aware of by the senses. i don't see how an internal quest can tell me anything profound about the universe at large. sense data and reason are both required to learn about the universe, one or the other alone are not so useful.

It's just as likely that an Atheist is 'part of the universe' compared to a Theist.
I don't think it really has anything to do with religion in this case, just how one interprets what they've learned.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
