I am setting up a home cinema buy cant decide which Amplifier to use . I wans interested in the Sony STRDA 5200ES but I have gone cold on the idea since someone said that any on ereaaly into audio would never use a Sony. Some suggestions have been Yamaha or Denon . So what is the way to go? I have spent over $ 5k for good speakers so want something to match them.

middle of the road receivers that are 7.1 I bought the yamaha V661 and it worked about a week. Cuts out of the left side every 3 minutes. I don't hold that against them but I need to take it to a warranty shop and they said about 3 weeks before they'd have time to look at it. I'll take it in and when it comes back hook it up to a secondary TV room. So I ordered the now available Onkyo Tx-Sr605. I was blown away by the difference. The Onk is fabulous. I was amazed by the quality and ease of installation and price and sound. I have it hooked up to Bose sub and Bose jewel cube speakers. So I didn't spend a ton of money but I have an extremely nice TV room now and it's hooked up to Panasonic 61" DLP with HD. I'm just overjoyed at the price and I think for the money is a very good system.
Good luck

Over $5K for the speakers and sub eh...OK I can suggest a few models for you:

1) Pioneer Elite VSX-94 (Even the 92 would do) they are priced at just below $1900 CND...check their website for the current retail price. www.pioneerelectronics.ca

2) Onkyo Integra...very good receiver I believe it's about $3000 not sure.

3) Try this for for a very good system...The Arcam AVPP700 (pre amp processor) and the Arcam P1000 amplifier. They would cost some decent money.

4) Have you heard of Anthem receivers yet? I heard they have a good selection as well.
