Hey Sweety,

She lies. Your friend is doing what is called enabling her. That mean that he is helping her to continue with her bad behavior. It's very possible that her mother is not healthy also. She cannot blame her mother or anyone else for her bad behavior or choices. Even at 17, she makes her own choices. You can't make anyone feel or do anything. It's also possible that her mother is a good woman and her daughter is just rebelling against all authority, including her parents or mother.

I don't believe that God punishes anyone. Our own bad choices lead us into situations that are unhealthy. Hopefully we learn from them. How does your friend feel about her betrayal?

I don't know the police where you live so I wouldn't want to say that they will be able to help you. It sounds like she has not had very good influences in her early development years.
She's young so it's possible for her to find her way.

Since they are having sex please make sure your friend protects himself with a condom and doesn't exchange bodily fluids. He could contract an STD or get her pregnant. Then he will really feel obligated to her.

It sounds like he could be trying to change or help her. If she doesn't want help. He can't help her.

Proper mental help and therapy is difficult to find. What do your friends parents think of the situation? They may be of some assistance. Sometimes school guidance counselors are a good source of information. The church also has lots of people around that are willing to help. Reach out to someone you can trust. There are teen crisis numbers in the phone book. Please don't try to handle this on your own. No man is an island. We all need each other.

I'm sorry. Sometimes, in spite of our best efforts, some people will not choose the right path no matter how much you want them to. I lost 2 sisters and many friends. They are alive... I tried to save them from themselves, but they didn't want to be saved. They were not willing to try. They were not willing to sacrifice their own selfish wants and desires. Living in the moment and not being able to see the big picture or the future consequences of our actions is common.

Threatening to kill someone is a very serious offense. You were there. Do you think she was serious or was she blowing off steam? If you think she may...That's different.
Then you have an obligation to tell your parents and report the threat to the police. She is a minor, so they would send her for counseling at a detention center. Does her mother know where she is. Is she a runaway? A healthy parent or guardian would be preferable. An aunt? An adult friend of hers?

I hope this helps you.

God Bless

Take care,

Jen

You're definitely right, she really needs some professional help as soon as possible. and if I was in that situation where I found out the person was 17 instead of 19, first I would be really mad, then I would stop seeing that person and break all contact with them as soon as possible.

I think you should fall back and let him find out. If your being a good friend, all you can do is make sure things don't go wrong. if they did, you won't be able to blame yourself. It would be all on him, and then you have to be there to catch him when he falls.
