What techniques will help me when im running slow or faster than usual? Im not a fast runner im actually the slowest on my team, I ran last year and even then I was slow. Im like 2 minutes slower I dont know if its the fact that I have a hip flexor problem or if its that I use this inhaler that is suppose to open up my lungs which doesnt feel like it does anything. When I try opening up my strides I get out of breath real quick and I cant hold it for long. Any advice on what I can do to open up my strides?

*Practice makes perfect*

Ask yourself: 'Do i train as much as my fellow team members?' If not its a clear indication that you might need to be more dedicated.

A lot of amateur athletes have a 1 breath per 2 steps pattern. Professional athletes use a 1 breath per 5 steps pattern.

Practice yourself to find out the best pattern for you. If you are not satisfied with a pattern do not give up, try another pattern.

I find it easy to just keep my breathing to every 4 steps. As you take a step breathe in and on the 3rd step breathe out. A constant circular breathings. For me 4 steps is fine. But I do push it to 8 breaths long cycles. And if I'm really winded I just breathe faster.

And practice your breathing all the time. Sitting, walking. Always focus.
