Seriously, I used to feel the exact same way. It is people who call themselves "Christians"- what they teach and do that kept me from God for the majority of my life. I imagine it was not on purpose but, the idea of God that they propose is not a God I would ever want to worship. I feel the same way about Islam.

Over a period of time, with an open mind and a lot of reading on my own, I discovered the ancient Christian church is still around today. They don't have televangelists nor do they advertise themselves where I live. They have gone to great lengths to preserve their traditions and the teachings of Christ, through his Apostles for the last 2000 years.

They have very different ideas than what I grew up having crammed down my throat. They also have an interesting take on the New Testament, I guess primarily because they existed for 300 years before the book was fully assembled.

I like it so much I joined and couldn't be happier unless I found it sooner in my life. I do sympathize with agnostics and atheists who are turned away because of what people do hiding behind the name of religion. Please don't allow others to do that to you.

You don't like all christians yet you have not met all christians. If your a seeker of the truth you'll find Jesus.

God is not the sinner. If a Christian is unchristian-like, that doesn't make God a fake. Maybe they are just hypocrate Christians who say they are Christians, but act like the World. Many do this and it doesn't glorify God and cause people like you to hate all Christians. That was also your choice to HATE Christians because with true Christians, God is pleased.

I tell you right now I'm a Christian and you would have to be a Satanist not to love me.

They are like community guidelines only on a larger scale.
We can live with out them, we can follow some of them, we can follow all of them.( their guidelines)
With out the bibles guidelines to follow with in society, the human becomes unrealistic with little or no consideration for others well being.
You state you don't like Christians. I find them about as exciting to be around as being with a stump and a rock.
Their bases of belief are the Bible (or the words of God) with the 10 commandments. Try to live with in a society with the total abandonment of the 10 commandments some time.
Christians are people with convictions, assumptions and opinions based upon some thing of great value.
They will never impress me as I am not responsible for their behavior, only mine. If they do good works, are loving, are great parents, raise children of creativity and responsible.
Great...On the other side of the coin, being a society that abandons the bible and it's guidelines=insane world, greed unchained, murders as acceptable, child rapes as great stuff,
total government control over all lives. You fill in the blanks.
I pray you become a Christian, just not a stump and a rock.

I have to answer with a question, as to why to you feel this way? Not all Christians are like the next one. Some people get all caught up in judgment of others when that is not our job, but God's. I'm not sure what turns you off on Christians, but I would say if they are very judgmental, and pushy, and look down on you, maybe they aren't being so Christian. I don't think I would like anyone like that myself. We should ask ourselves, are we being judgmental of others, yourself included? Christians, should live the life that Christ set an example of while He was on this earth. I have my faults believe me. I'm not anywhere near perfect, but I am a Christian. We all fall short to the glory of God. We are human, and even Christians mess up. If you believe we are goody goodies, we are not, and anyone that is Christian that acts that way, is not being very Christ-Like. With that being said, I believe I will say goodnight. :)

I have two "Christian friends. One is hip and follows her own road and the other is ridgid and basically judgemental.
I am a Christian and am not to sure how people describe me.
I guess you have to take it on a case by case basis. You wouldn't get up and say I dislike all white or black people. Keep an open mind. There might be one out there you might like.Stereotypes can get you in trouble.Remember Hitler?

If that is true then you might like these quotes by Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi: "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ" and "If Christians would really live according to the teachings of Christ, as found in the Bible, all of India would be Christian today" and "I consider western Christianity in its practical working a negation of Christ’s Christianity" and "It is my firm opinion that Europe does not represent the spirit of God or Christianity but the spirit of Satan. And Satan’s successes are the greatest when he appears with the name of God on his lips"

I don't like christians either.....but not all.....some are really nice people and try to preach their beliefs and try to get everyone to believe as they do....they just go about their lives as any other normal joe does.

It's the ones that brainwash young kids like that camp leader in the movie "Jesus Camp" that give christians a bad name.

I have no problems with a christian as long as they accept my disbelief in god and don't try to change my views.

I apologize for any Christian that does not treat you with respect and love- like Jesus would do- however there are 2 sides to this story- there are many Christians who are loving people, I pray that I am one of them, that desire for others to know Jesus- so we , through the power of His Spirit try to live our lives to please Him, and to draw other men and women to Him. However if the reason you don't like us, is because we are standing up for our belief that everyone is a sinner and needs a Savior, then that is a different story- which is it?

That's a very interesting reason. As a persons faith is not dependent on others but on ones own heart, and character. You have a one-to-one relationship with GOD, and this then extends slowly to others, usually starting with ones family. The character of strangers is of no consequence.
I hope you can like everyone in the group of people/faith you finally find.

Peace.
