No Chad, you wouldn't be a hypocrite! Everyone likes to read a good thriller/suspense novel every now and then. :)

I wouldn't think so. I'm completely not religious in any way shape or form but I find them super interesting. I've even gone to youth groups (when I was younger) just to see what it's all about. ALTHOUGH I wouldn't brag about it to Christians because some may see it as being odd or even blasphemous that you are just looking into Christianity for the story. But that's all the Bible is... A big BIG story lol.. (to me anyway) Just go for it. Do what you want. And besides why let what people think of you get in your way?

Please understand something....

Imagine, if you will.....

There was a pile of newspapers. Dated between 1999 and 2008. They were going to be recycled, but they sat in a garage tied up by twine.....

A thousand years should pass.....

someone dug up from the rubble... perhaps, they had planned to build something there..... and found a perfectly preserved stack of newspapers with a thin rope of twine around it.....

They opened and read..... that children were raped... that mothers killed their babies....... that the respected leaders of churches stole money and molested young boys.... that earthquakes rocked continents..... and the king of the country refused to get water to people in his own land.... that a digital chip was discovered to track people's whereabouts....... that in distant lands there was an outbreak of disease that effected over 7000 persons...... that a war was started so a man could steal another man's oil...... that religion was rising against religion...........

Would you think that man would think it was the bible he was reading?........

and if you see what I see and know what some Christians know about all of this........ then, I'd tell you the bible is only telling you what life is like...... It is today the same as it was then.....

no, u wouldnt be a hypocrite at all... the reason you get interested in Christianity is irrellevant, as long as you get interested.
(side note) There was an athiest who decided he was going to read the whole bible and prove it wrong a few years ago, but ended up giving his life to Christ before he finished. ( I cant remember his name) But he wrote a book talking about his experience and it was mind boggling. I'll look it up for you incase it's something that you might be interested in.
(hopefully i can get it up in time)

No. If you read the whole picture and someone taught you you would see most of the things were for a very good reason.

Chad seriously, read the bible and pray before -ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you and you WILL NOT regret it.

A peace and joy and a reason for life will come to you.

Jesus did a mighty work on the cross. Was it for you? It could be. To have all your sins wash by the blood of Jesus is SO powerful and awesome. I will pray for you.

If you are going into it with that idea, you are going to be sadly disappointed. There are stories of wars and battles of course, but the main battle is the battle of good vs. evil, and that battle has already been fought and won.

The main message of Christianity is one of love, peace and redemption offered by Jesus, which right now seems like it might be a little tame for you...

But Christians would welcome your first steps at exploration, so come on in!

are you saying that you have talked **** about something you knew nothing about ?

yes, look into it with an open mind.

just think ' If I was God, I would be zapping alot more people then he has.
ya, there is blood in the bible. but be thankful I'M NOT YOUR GOD. or there would be more. It's my creation, I'll deal with it the way I see fit. doesn't matter if you approve or not.

If that is the only reason you can come up with you can stop mocking and just watch the news - or be sincere about it and that might change your life
