Rabbi Yakov L: Welcome. I'll be with you in a moment...

arpgme: No one has seen God but Moses has seen God face to face

arpgme: Shalom Rabbi. I am wonder, if no one has seen God how did Moses see God face to
face? I'm confused.

Rabbi Yakov L: hi'

arpgme: I wrote the question up top

Rabbi Yakov L: The patriarchs had also experience prophecy

Rabbi Yakov L: though Moses was superior

Rabbi Yakov L: as Maimonides explains

Rabbi Yakov L: other prophets experienced prophecy while asleep, in dreams

arpgme: So Moses was able to see God without dieing? Or was he a spirit all along?

Rabbi Yakov L: unclear. with 'static'

Rabbi Yakov L: only Moses was wide awake...and received DIRECT prophecy as through a clear
lens

Rabbi Yakov L: fully conscious

arpgme: oh

arpgme: ok

Rabbi Yakov L: that is the meaning of 'face to face"

arpgme: So he saw God through a direct prophecy?

arpgme: Thanks

arpgme: Good night, Rabbi

Abraham saw God. The Angel of the Lord is the second person of the Godhead.

Manoah and his wife too. Why do you ask my name seeing that it is incomprehensible! What does that mean? Gosh this guy doesn't know much.

Moses was hidden in the cleft of the rock ad only saw the Shekainiah glory of God.

Jesus said I and the Father are one John 10:30. He continued to say something like 'you've seen me you've seen the Father.' In John 10.

Look Exodus, the second book of Moses, said that YHWH would show the BACK of him! John wrote that no man has seen God at ANY time...Read the WHOLE Book of Hebrews. Learn that any contradiction is with US. through lack of true wisdom. And if you are Jewish, I most certainly understand.

We do not know exactly if God exists, no one can say that. No one can say if Jesus was real or if he was just like that guy in the Meaning of Life by Monty Python. God is a spiritual being and no one can physically see him although we know that some one has to be with us in this great and vast universe.

Correction to the above post, no man has seen God's _face_(the Father's face), and thus truly seen God at any time, excepting Jesus.

well in this case some parts of the Bible are figurative

I have no problem with the Bible being figurative at times, but then don't tell me another part has to be literal when it sounds pretty strange (like Genesis being a 6-day creation)
