I want to make a recording (basically an audio-card you can call it) and burn it onto a CD. I also want to mix music into the "card" as I speak. I don't own a microphone so I'd appreciate specific details of what I need and programs I can download to do it.

Thanks!

Well, you start by getting a microphone that will plug into the sound card on your computer.
Then you use the simple Recorder Program on Window Accessories to record a file and you burn the file to the CD.
If you want to mix, then you can use the Volume control in window to balance various sources, including the microphone to make a digital file.
If you want to edit, then get Audacity.

What do you actually want to do? I mean you are totally confusing in your question. Do you mean to say that you want to record your voice with out using a PC?From what i guess you do have a pc, you don't have a microphone but you want to record your voice-is that it? Then the answer is simply- Impossible! But for instance if you got a cell phone with voice recording capability then you still have a chance. Mixing and burning are different issues and can be done with out any problem once you have the audio in your pc. But i don't understand when you say you cannot buy a microphone..It is dead damn cheap.

a variety of least confusing procedures would be to record your voice by utilising a microphone and recording application onto your pc, and then burning this record onto a CD utilising a CD burner, which would be required.
