Jews did not actually exist until God made His covenant with Abraham. This covenant marks the start of the Jewish nation. This covenant was passed down through his son Isaac. That is the Jewish line. Muslims trace their line from Abraham's other son Ishmael. He was Abraham's first son. But he was not the son of the covenant. God did not choose to pass the covenant He made with Abraham through Ishmael. He chose the line from Isaac. Thus muslims are not Jews.
