"Trinity" is not used in Scripture. This is a term that is used to attempt to describe the triune God, the fact that there are 3 coexistent, co-eternal persons that make up God. Understand that this is NOT in any way suggesting 3 Gods. The Trinity is 1 God made up of 3 persons. There is nothing wrong with using the term "Trinity" even though the word is not found in the Bible. It is shorter to say the word "Trinity" than to say "3 coexistent, co-eternal persons making up 1 God." If this presents a problem to you, consider this: the word grandfather is not used in the Bible either. Yet, we know there were grandfathers in the Bible. Abraham was the grandfather of Jacob. So don't get hung up on the term "Trinity" itself. What should be of real importance is that the concept that is REPRESENTED by the word "Trinity" does exist in Scripture.

The trinity is considered a "mystery" by religious scholars. And yet, the Bible says: : “God is not a God of confusion.”—1Â Corinthians 14:33, Revised Standard Version
With this in mind, why would God make up a doctrine so confusing that even Hebrew, Greek, and Latin scholars can't really explain it?
The amazing thing to me about the belief in the trinity is how a person can take just a few verses and claim they "prove" the trinity, when these verses do not harmonize with the rest of the Bible. Just by reading approximately 15 verses before or after any trinity "proof" texts, Jesus himself will usually disprove the trinity by saying he is the son of God, God is greater than he is, no one has seen Almighty God at anytime yet they saw Jesus, the son does nothing of his own initiative, the Father sent him...take the time to read the chapter your 'proof' scripture is found in and see for yourself.
Matthew 24:36 is a good example of why the trinity makes no sense. If Jesus were part of Almighty God, he would know what his Father knew, right? And yet this verse, speaking about the end of the system of things, brings out "Concerning the day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father."
Take the time to read these scriptures and think about what they are saying as well and see if they harmonize with the trinity....Acts 7:55; Colossians 1:15.

No, the word trinity is not in the Bible, but the concept of trinity is.
First what does trinity mean= The state or character of being three; The union of three parts, or elements in one.
also in the dictionary.=Christian Theology, the union in one devine nature of the Father, Son, and the holy Spirit.
It is used to show the trinity of God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit.
So no it does not rule out the possibility that it is a Biblical concept.

Not at all.
But the fact that the idea of a TRInity must involve the word "three" and this word is NEVER used for God in the entire Bible rules out the possibility!

Just because a particular word is not in the Bible does not mean that the Bible has nothing to say about it. As a word genocide is not in the Bible and yet it occured in the OT; infanticide, not in the Bible, Herod committed it; manslaughter, not in the Bible but the concept clearly is. Words are just labels for ideas and thoughts, surely what is important is not the label, but the concept. Did the idea of God only come about when the word was written in the Bible? Ridiculous thought, isn't it? My hubby has this idea that the written word is a tool of satan in that most of us get so wound up about a word or the meaning of the word that we fail to see the truth. I sometimes think he is right, however, he also says that God, being wiser than satan has hidden the truth in these words and anyone who really seeks the truth will look beyond the words and find it.

The word trinity of itself not being there,
doesn't prove 1 thing or another.
The concept itself,
is Not there.
When u read all the Scriptures,
they must harmonize w/ the rest of the Bible.
and that thought is not there.
The trinity lie came about some 300 yrs later,
in the 4th century.
God Himself spoke from heaven @ Matt 3:17
"This is my Son, the beloved,
whom I have approved."
You don't believe God's own words,
how will you believe mine?

The Trinity concept of Baal is in the bible and should serve as a good example why "Not" to worship a trinity.
When Israel worship the trinity they were given to their enemies. When they followed the father, Jehovah God they were saved.
Jesus himself is our teacher and rather teaching the Jews to worship him he taught them to give sacred service to his father.

Trinity is not in the Bible because it was taken out of modern Bibles, like the NIV. The old KJV has this verse:
"And there are three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one."
I John 5:7
This verse was reworded in modern Bible to disguise the fact it was taken out. In modern Bibles it reads:
"And there are three that witness"

Don't see why. I suppose you could strictly define it as not a Biblical concept, but what it is is just a human way of naming the three in one concept.
