I have a huge zit on my cheek near my nose, so I put some pimple cream on it. A few minutes after applying the cream, the spot where it occupied started to burn. I ignored the sensation because I thought that the cream was killing germs or something.

About an hour or so after that, I took a shower; And to my horror, now where I put the pimple cream there is a huge red spot that looks dry and irritated. It's clearly visible and red. It almost looks like a burn.

What can I do to make this red spot go away?

If it matters, the pimple cream I applied was called "Clear Zit" and it says the following on it:

"MAXIMUM STRENGTH
10% Benzoyl Peroxide
Dries and cleans blemishes without overdrying skin!"

Judging by your skin's reaction, you are probably allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide, so avoid products containing it in the future. For now, all you can do is wait for the spot to heal. Don't apply anymore anti-acne products and just wash your face with water for the next few days. If you feel very self conscious, you can apply a dab of gentle face lotion for the dryness and some light, loose face powder to conceal the inflammation. It's possible that applying a hydrocortisone cream could reduce redness, but I'd check with a dermatologist or other expert before trying this remedy. Do not worry too much about the spot, even if it looks bad now. The irritation will probably fade within a week.

Oh my goodness I know how you feel I had the same exact problem! First step is too relax, after all stress does cause acne! So be careful there! I started using 3 step products because it seems to work better for my type of skin, and it really did make a difference.. I used products from Clinique and Clean & Clear. So far what I found works the best is Neutrogena Rapid Clear Facial Scrub and Rapid Clear Fade Gel - they worked miracles!! Lastly I strongly recommend using the Queen Helene Masque, Mint Julep it is awesome and works on everyone! Good Luck! :D

You're having an allergic reaction--the same thing happened to me when I tried using Proactiv.
The reaction will go away on its own, so you just need to make yourself comfortable until it does. I found chilled strips of cucumber skin worked well to take down the swelling a little, strange as it sounds. If it hasn't healed in a few days, go see your doctor or dermatologist.
