its like that one story, right?
the rich guy and the poor guy go hunting, and the rich guy turns to the poor guy and says "I am not a God fearing man, I don't believe in Him, I don't listen to any religion, I don't do much good in life, I'm not an evil man, I just do my own business and let others do theirs, and I have a large estate, millions of dollars, and a wonderful family. You, on the other hand, love God, go to church, do community service, you are always working for others, yet you have little to show for it. Why do you believe in God when he hasn't done much for you?" The poor guy thought about it and said that he didn't think it was God working against him, but Satan, so the rich guy asked "Then why does Satan work so hard against you when you have already given up so much for your God?" the guy asked for more time to come up with an answer, which he was given. They hunted until the afternoon and then the rich guy downed two ducks. One duck was dead before it hit the ground, but the other one was only wounded. The two had to run over the spot where the first one fell to shoot the other duck. The poor man turned to the rich man and said "I have you're answer"
Satan can ignore you because he already has you, he knows where you will be when he needs you, he has to come after me with ferocity because i am only wounded.
It's also like the story of Job, we are all given only as much as we can handle, those who have the most trials have the strongest souls.

You are correct , Satan has no need to attack or pressure the vast majority of people alive today , as they are already in his hand.
Most of the problems that people experience are from their own doing , bad choices , bad associates , bad lives.
The Bible clearly says that Satan is the God of this world.
Being such it is his intention to entangle people in it.
Keeping them so busy with their pleasure and money seeking lifestyle that robs the true God Jehovah of their attention and worship.
But thats not a big deal anyway because most people don't worship God correctly anyway.
No , instead they prefer to cling to pagan and un-Christian teachings like hell fire , the immortality of the soul and the trinity doctrines.
These are foundation teachings often found in the world empire of false religion that Satan has set up to mislead many.
The Bible soon tells of a time when this false religious system will be completely destroyed along with all of its human adherents.
Now truly God fearing people are commanded to flee from this filthy Godless worship and to follow Jehovah God according to the truth as found in the pages of the Bible.
Worshiping God correctly helps identify us apart form the normal (bad) world , Satan sees this , and it is these people that he put pressure on , hoping to break their faith and draw them back into his vomit filled world of lies , sin and death.

I think that satan mounts more hardcore attacks on Christians, but here's the piece of the puzzle that's missing in this question, IMO. Sin gives satan/demons a legal right to be in someone's life. This is particularly true of occult involvement but there are also demons dealing with alcoholism, murder, adultery, etc. Committing these sins opens up a door and demons can then attach themselves to the person who committed them. (I'm loathe to use the term demon possession as that's a mistranslation in the KJV --- more accurately it would be translated 'demonized', which is for a demon to ride/control a man the way a man would a horse).
This is true for non-Christians and Christians. Fortunately believers have the authority of Jesus' name and can banish these demons from their lives, so I don't think you see as *severe* demonization among Christians as non-Christians (also, *hopefully*, as we move along in sanctification we are committing less sin!). Demonization serves two main purposes --- to keep Christians from living victoriously and to keep non-Christians blinded to the truth. If non-Christians even had a *moment* where their eyes weren't blinded by the 'rulers of the air' they would turn to Jesus. This is why satan has to continue to mount attacks against them.
Still, I agree with you that he works harder to pit Christian against Christian and to keep believers stumbling and pride filled, for we are to be the Light of Christ on the earth. If he keeps us from walking victoriously, what do the non-Christians have to look to and become saved by the good news?

Satan will also continue putting pressure in their lives to possible force them to commit suicide and lowering, if not eliminating, their chances of being resurrected. The ones that live against God will always have a chance for genuine repentance.

Satan does not exist, anyway, so it's a non-issue.
AnArdRi, yeah, that and the fact that the names of both contain the same letters.

I was just thinking this. I accidentally started praying the St Michael prayer, (for the 2nd time) stopped myself, shrugged, and said it again. The world probably needs it. Although I was thinking more along the lines of smoke, darkness and confusion.

I heard this story once, it will support your thesis:
A holy man walked with God on a path, and passed a man who was surrounded by ten devils. The holy man, referring to the man surrounded, said to God, "This man must be very evil to be so attacked by devils." God said in response, "No my son, he is a righteous man, so Satan has set his best upon him."
As they continued to an overlook, the holy man saw down into a city, where one devil stood in the town square. "What a righteous city," said the holy man. "For there is but one devil to fear." To this, God sadly stated, "No my son, this town is so wicked, that only one evil can control them all."
Hope that helps!
